The day with Will in the infirmary was spectacular up until when I almost died. We were helping a young son of Ares who had gotten a spear in his shoulder. Will would ask me for a bandage, or another "medical instrument" and I would give it to him. We worked like one of Leo's well-oiled machines.
The son of Ares fell asleep while Will and I were still healing him. We continued working in silence for another ten minutes.
All of the sudden, Will put his and on mine that was lying on the side of the bed. I jumped in the air, startled by the physical contact.
"Holy Hades!" I yelled. I didn't mean to, but a large crack opened up in the middle of the room, expelling ten skeletons from within.
"Nico!" Will exclaimed, completely forgetting about the patient he was healing. I collapsed on the ground as the room spun about me. The whole world went black.

Will's POV
Nico was completely useless. I would ask for a tool, like a scalpel, and he wouldn't know what it was so I would have to describe it to him. The stick with the sharp blade on it, Darlin'. But, having to explain things is a small price to pay for getting the chance to know the adorable son of Hades. I usually prefer to work alone in the infirmary, but Nico's was the only company I could tolerate at the moment. When our patient fell asleep, I place my hand gently on Nico's own, wanting to feel his cold skin that was somehow comforting to me.
He cursed, jumping several feet in the air. I ruined it. I ruined it. He hates me. I ruined it.

NICO USED HIS UNDERWORLD-Y MAGIC. Skeletons arose from the newly created crack in the ground.
"Nico!" I screamed as he fell to the ground. The skeletons crumbled, leaving piles of dust on the ground. The crack closed, leaving a jagged scar on the floor. I hurried over to Nico, picked him up bridal style, and carried him over to the nearest bed.
"Gods, you're an idiot," I whispered, frantically trying to keep Nico alive. He was fading fast."No Nico. Nico, please stay with me," I muttered, tears slipping out from my eyes and leaving trails down my face.
I grabbed Nico's wrist, trying to feel for his pulse, but my fingers passed right through, leaving a cold, tingly feeling lingering on my hand that was not at all comforting.
"Gods no, Nico!" I yelled, punching the wall next to me. Someone sighed and hope blossomed in my chest. My neck practically broke as I looked over at Nico.
"Nico," I breathed. Hesitantly, I placed my hand out to touch Nico. I closed my eyes. My hand hit something soft. My eyes snapped open and I saw that my hand had passed right through Nico's chest and was resting on the bed. I swore, loudly. The sigh must've been my imagination.
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything, Will. Am I?" a voice from the doorway asks. I look up to see Percy.
"Uhh...Nope. You're okay," I say, flustered.
"How is he doing?" Percy asks, concern flashing over his placid face.
U... He's fine. At first I was being upbeat and not telling him the truth for Percy's sake, but I realized I was doing it for my sake, too.
"He doesn't look oka-,""No.Nico's okay. He just needs to rest for a while. Alone. No visitors." I walk over to the door and slam it shut in Percy's face. I hear fast footsteps run down the hallway after a moment. Another sigh comes from the bed. This time, it wasn't my imagination. I sprint over to his side. Nico is pale, but not see-through like he was earlier. I grabbed Nico's hand and my fingers didn't pass through. A huge sigh of relief escaped my mouth. I kissed Nico's forehead and began to sing a hymn to Apollo through the lips still pressed to Nico's cold, clammy skin.
After about ten minutes of singing, I stopped and marveled at how much better Nico looked. He was back to his normal shade, but his skin was freezing and he was still passed out cold. Exhausted, I set my head on the edge of the bed and fell asleep, still clutching Nico's wrist very tightly.

Nico's POV
When I woke up, Will was coiled around my wrist so tightly that I couldn't feel my hand.
"Will," I said, but it came out as a whisper. I tried to pull my arm out of his grasp, but found I couldn't move my arms either. I desperately tried to move any of my limbs, but I could only blink, breath, and move my lips to speak. "Will," I said and this time it came out a little louder. The son of Apollo stirred in his sleep. He then lifted his head up and blinked a couple of times.
"Nico!" He gasped, obvious relief filling his voice. He stood up and kissed my forehead. I wanted to squirm away, but couldn't. I felt a blush on my cheeks. Will chuckled softly.
"You're so easily embarrassed, Death Boy."
"Will, I can't move," I said, getting winded from just speaking those four words. I was forced to let the nickname go because I was already exhausted from talking. I made a mental note to tell him later.
"Oh! Umm...," Will replied, letting go of my wrist. I felt cold and empty after his warm touch left my skin. I mentally scolded myself for thinking anything good about the perky son of Apollo, even if he was nice, and happy, and caring. Stop! I screamed to myself. Just then, Will grabbed ahold of my leg and gently pushed it up, lifting it higher and higher off the bed. I let out a little gasp and Will stopped."Is this hurting you too much?" Will asked.
"Go," I whispered. Will moved around all of my joints and worked out my muscles. I was actually able to move all of my limbs now. Then, Will wrapped me in a tight embrace and whispered "Oh, thank the gods." He let go of me and I started to get up off of the bed. I placed my feet on the ground and stood up. My knees buckled and I would've fallen had it not been for Will, who hooked his arms under my arms and held me up.
"Where do you think you're going?" He asked, coldly as he placed me back on the bed.
"Out of here. I'm fine now, aren't I?"
"No, you're not fine and you're not leaving. You need to rest for at least another day. I'm not losing you again, Death Boy."
