You just hopped in Jungkook's car and he started driving back to his place. You sit quietly in the passenger's seat and let your thoughts run through everything that just happened.
Jungkook placed his hand, palm up on your thigh and you just covered it with yours, interlacing your fingers with his. He glances at you and asks, "Are you okay?"
"I am now..." you said smiling back at him. His presence alone can make your weak heart strong. He has a different effect on you especially when he shows concern about your welfare. You felt that when he helped you have a place to stay and now he's still here when you need a strong pillar to hold on to.
The moment you arrive at his place, he pulled you in for a tight hug. That's when your barriers broke and tears came running from your eyes. "It's alright, I'm here." Jungkook said as he rubs your back with one hand while stroking the back of your head with another.
You reply with a weak whimper. Jungkook then carries you with both arms and takes you to your room. He carefully puts you on the edge of the bed while he sat beside you and continued the hug. "Tell me when you're ready okay." He whispered to your ear before giving your head a peck.
It felt like forever as you try to compose yourself. You just cling on to Jungkook, soaking his shirt with your tears. Without moving a muscle you started to speak. "I was at the police station today. My professor said I was reported as a missing person last week."
"I called Tracey and she said my mom made the report and has been worried sick about me." You continued with a quivering voice.
"She was too weak from not eating and was almost admitted to the hospital." Now your tears started pouring again.
Jungkook tightened his hug to reassure you he's listening. "It's going to be okay..." He said in a soothing voice.
"I called her up and she said she's doing better but I still need to see for myself." You continued.
"Of course, you should check up on her." He replied with so much softness it melted your heart.
"What were you doing at the police station?" He asked trying not to sound like he's prying.
"I had to sign some papers to close the missing person case." You replied. "Kook?..."
"Yes baby, I'm listening..." He replied, patiently waiting for more news from you.
"I saw... Lee... at the station..." You said not successful in trying to hide the disgust that can be heard from your voice.
"He was the one who went to my mom saying he couldn't find me..." You said with a bit of regret, regret from not being able to keep your mom away from this.
"I was so furious that I lashed at him... " Your voice filled with pent-up anger as you told Jungkook all the things you said to that cheater.
Jungkook let go of you and held your fisted hands, listening to every word you say. He could tell the hurt and anger deep in you. He carefully placed his palms underneath your fists, held them near his soft lips as he planted tender kisses on your knuckles.
"When do you plan to go home?" He asked softly, placing your now spread hands on your lap.
"Tomorrow morning..." You said in a weak voice.
"Okay." He said nodding at you.
"Kook... Thank you... I wouldn't have made it on my own..." You stammered.
