when england star phil foden gets an injury and can't play, gareth southgate lets him stay at his house. but that means y/n southgate, his daughter, is stuck with him till the tournaments over.
started: 11/09/21
i hear footsteps from behind, "what?" i ask giggling seeing it was phil
"you left something." he says
"what?" i ask
"me." he says smirking
"how could i forget." i say, "but you need to go to training mister."
"come watch?" he asks, "i'll score for you."
"okay but i can't stay long cause i've got to sort out what i'm doing with henderson's group." i explain
"fine, i'll just have to work harder then." he says
"to do what?" i ask
"to get a goal in for you, were you not listening?" phil asks
"oh yeah, no i was i was just thinking about other training." i say
"right...well lets go." he says taking my hand
"only till the end of the corridor." i say as he groans
we both get outside, pretending we didn't know each other. i sit down on the bench and watch as my group and tim's group join up on the pitches. tim splits them all up into two teams and they head straight into a mini game. as the last person is putting on their bib, i look over at phil who mouths 'keep your eyes on the ball' making me smile.
the ball gets passed around, and phil's team do hold possession. after a few minutes, he dodges all the defenders and dribbles up the pitch, he shoots and it's in. i cheer for him as all his teammates run over to him, phil turns around and gains my eye contact. ' i love you' he mouths.
did he say that? did i get it right? do i say it back?
he's still looking at me, almost waiting for me to reply
'i love you too' i mouth back, it felt right, i did love him, and not just because he loved me.
i stay for a few more minutes, knowing he would of wanted me to before heading back inside to sort out what i was doing after lunch.
i go upstairs to dad's office and knock on the door.
"hi darling, what's up?" he asks opening his door
"came to ask about what i'll be doing later with the different group." i say
"actually i've got some news about that, so all the different coaches have been finding a few things difficult cause you all base on different things. so you're more physical and running, tim's all football, stacy mainly focuses on a warm ups and warm downs and it's like that for the rest of the trainers. so we've thought that instead of just having one permanent group, you will become the physical trainer for all groups. so all day, you will just be doing your training, but swapping groups every hour. we think it will improve game play, and help the boys get all sorts done in a day." dad explains
"oh okay." i sa
"is something wrong?" he asks
"i just really liked my group." i giggle
"they will still be your group, what we're gonna do is every morning you will have a group meeting and talk about the day and the mindset they need to progress through." dad explains
"okay sounds good." i say, "is today still how it was though?"
"yeah, so you've still only got one session after lunch." he says, "but tomorrow you will have all five groups, just a different times. you'll get your timetable by tonight."
"okay thank you." i say
"but to answer your question, this afternoon i want you to just do a few workouts with them in the gym." dad says
"cool, i'll see you later then." i say
"bye darling." he says as i exit his office
i go back to my room where i lay on my bed on my phone.
