CHAPTER 4

After the unpleasant meeting the two girls went back to their room and Nat spent the night crying in her princess arms. Apart from that moment of depression and vulnerability the rest of the week goes amazingly, they go back to their usual life sneaking around and sharing romantic moments. 
The one that isn't pleased after the encounter is Natash’s family, especially her father. He couldn’t believe that his own daughter chose a spoiled princess over her own family. Alexiei is furious and spends the rest of the week planning how to get his daughter back. Meanwhile the two twins after seeing their dad in a bad mood for so long decide to cheer him up by revealing what they saw after they left the reception room of the palace. There’s no need to say that as soon as Alexiei heard the whole story of Natasha and princess Bess kissing is screaming in pure happiness. 
He now has a really dangerous weapon in his arsenal and he intends to use it to his advantage at all costs,regardless of the damage it will cause. 
So the next day Sir Romanoff leaves the house pretty early wearing his best clothes and a devil smirk. Once he reaches the castle gates and he is lead inside by one of the maidens, he gets really cautious, always checking if Natasha or the princess are around. 
When finally the royals greet him he doesn't waste time with useless chatting, instead he goes straight to the point. 
“My lord and lady” he starts after bowing. “I paid my debts and I want my daughter back, not only because she’s blood of my blood, but especially cause I have to punish her for sinning with your daughter, the princess.” 
His speech is bald and both king and queen are astonished by it. And even if Alexiei is pretty sure to get back his daughter so he can put her to work, things don’t go as planned at all. 
In fact even if the king is livid because a humble maiden is sharing a romantic relationship with his daughter, he decides to listen to his wife who has always been aware of Sir Romanoff's intentions, so they didn’t allow Alexiei to take his daughter back home. 
At the end Natasha’s father leaves the castle with bare hands, but he’s revealed that his daughter will be punished harshly for being so intimate with Lady Bess. And this can be considered as a victory for the cruel man that actually never cared for his daughter. 

While the meeting between the two families is taking place the two young lovers manage to sneak out and go spend their morning in the peace that surrounds the pond in the little forest. Bess sings for Natasha from her favourite rock for the whole morning while the redhead feeds the wild animals and makes elaborate flower crowns both for her and the princess. 
They fantasize about the future: the places they would like to visit, where they would live, their dream house. And then Natasha says the word marriage. A sparks shine in Bess’s eyes hearing her girlfriend say that she wants to marry her one day, so they can be the happiest couple on the whole planet. The princess feels understood by someone for the first time in her whole life, they are on the same page and they want the same thing. Unfortunately she can’t say the same thing about her parents. She knows that they only want the best for her, but the best is not what she wants nor what she needs. 
Even though the time spent in the garden with her lover is the best of her life, Bess can’t wait to get back to her rooms. She has planned a huge surprise for Nat, something crazy and probably rushed, but for Bess it’s perfect. She can’t wait anymore. She wants to spend the rest of her life and she’s tired of hiding. Bess wants to be able to kiss her girl every time she feels like doing that, she wants to whisper sweet words at Natasha’s ear during dinner, walk hand in hand with her and have her sitting by her side in the most beautiful dresses during the ceremonies and balls.
The princess is so lost in her thoughts that she doesn’t even realize that she stopped singing and that now she’s staring at the blue sky with a dreamy smile and her shaped eyes. Only the voice of her girlfriend calling her name manages to bring her back to reality, putting the world stop at Bess’s imagination. 
“Is everything ok my lady?” Natasha asks her while giving Bess a side hug “Yeah bay. Everything is perfect.” the princess answers, leaning her head on her girlfriend’s shoulder, the perfume of flowers invading her nose. “We should go back inside my love. I have a surprise for you.” Bess suggests being too excited to wait until tonight to give her the gift.
After the redhead agrees with the princess, the couple head back to the castle not knowing what is waiting for them once they get inside.
