I'm so sorry I didn't update this story in months, but I had a hard time with the plot. Now I know this chapter is short, but the next one is almost ready and it's gonna be longer and a bit more interesting, I swear.🥰

CHAPTER 5

When they enter the palace and Natashia gets called by a guard neither of them is worried, on the contrary. It's not the first time the young servant is needed somewhere else. She looks at her princess waiting for the consent to go, even if deep down she's hoping to hear a no in response. She doesn't wanna leave, not now, at least not before having been able to see the surprise Bess was so excited for. That's when the princess nods her head and whispers in her ear "Your surprise will be waiting for you upstairs in my room. Don't take too long my lovely maiden.” A shiver runs down the redhead servant as she processes her lover. words and then she starts following the guard down the stone made corridor.
Natasha walks in this labyrinth with her head down, thoughts running free, from the surprise that's waiting for her upstairs, to her family's last visit. She was so deep in her mind that she almost didn't notice they stopped in front of a giant wooden door decorated with gold details and sparkling stones. The throne room. Natasha shivers at the realization, she's going to face her secret girlfriend's parents. 
The heavy knocking of the soldier echos in the empty corridor, then the door opens and the armored guy instructs her to enter. 

That's exactly what she does, with unsteady steps she makes her way inside the huge room and she jumps as soon as the door closes with a loud thud. 
Realization hit her, she's now alone.
She spins on herself admiring the beauty of the room and she can't stop herself from imagining her and Bess walking down this purpura carpet, hand in hand as their sumptuous dresses rustle at every step they take.
Her heart fills with joy and love and for a second Natasha forgets why she's there in the first place. At least until a cough caught her attention causing her to turn around and noticing the King himself standing right next to his throne. This view brings Natasha back to reality as her head drops in a deep bow, her knees shaking "What did I get myself into?" she asks herself.

"Stand maiden." Kings Sedov commands in a firm tone and Natasha obeys standing back straight before fixing her dress trying not to catch his eyes. She fails "Care to explain why your dress is dirty? Did you not learn how to keep yourself clean?" he questions as his eyes are burning a hole in Natasha's dress for how hard he's starting. 
At the insinuation that had the clear aim to insult her the maiden turns as red as her hair and she tries to justify herself  "M-my apologies Sir. Your d-daughter craved a walk in the woods, so I followed her and-” her rambling is cut short by a wave of the king’s hand.
“I was told that you and my daughter have been spending a lot of time together. Am I correct maiden?” the king then starts questioning her in a cold tone, while walking along the room "Of course! I-I mean, you're not mistaken Sir. Being the High Lady's personal maiden requires my presence at her side at all times and in all circumstances.” Natasha replies, trying to be convincing. But for once it's not her voice that betrays her, but the blush that appears on her pale cheeks as she thinks back on the long bath she and princess Bess shared with so much love last night.

"Lies!" King Sedov yells while slamming his fist on the armrest of the throne, then he continues "What binds you to my daughter has nothing to do with your profession or your sense of duty. It concerns something more disgusting and unseemly!” 
Natasha freezes on her spot, her face twisted in an expression of shock mist to fear. The king doesn't need to add anything more cause she knows what he's talking about. 
But how did he find out about their secret love story?
