I turned to face Mick Holler. He stared blankly at me, his eyes cutting through me and looking into my soul.
Join me, Kelly Movlid. Join me and we could be unstoppable, his voice said in my head. His voice was a cold and dark as his eyes. His very breath was frost of evilness
Everything about this man breaded fear into my mind. His pale face, his hair, the pin on his suit, his eyes, and his voice, oh his voice...
Join me and I can give you the world.
I slowly raised my gun in line with his head. My hands shook hard. The gun wobbled unsteadily within my grasp.
Join me Kelly Movlid...
My unsteady hands managed to squeeze the trigger. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion.
The bullet flew from the barrel. It seemed like and eternity, but it finally reached Mick Holler's chest.
On impact, Mick exploded into a million tiny ice crystals. And then everything faded.
Mick was gone. The polis floor was littered with dead Butterflies.
Kelso looked at me as if I'd gone insane. "Kelly, what are you doing?"
