Jennifer Gilbert, the unwanted twin. Any and every time someone would choose Elena. Caroline had chosen Elena when she needed one more girl to join the cheerleading team-she also always chose to invite Elena to every single party, but never told Jennifer-, her mother had chosen to always take Elena out to the mall or somewhere else. The Salvatore brothers only ever even spoke go Jennifer to save Elena and-herself, but, they always said Jennifer's name as though it was an afterthought-.
Until, one day, the two are kidnapped by two vampires; Trevor and Rose. Which lead to her meeting one of the people who would choose her over Elena. Every single time. Elijah Mikaelson.

"Perhaps," Jennifer spoke, only to be ignored. She sighed, sitting back down and watched as her friends bickered and argued.
"Jennifer!" When her name was yelled, her head snapped up, worried something had happened, only to see Caroline and Elena looking at her, looking angry-and slightly concerned, but mostly angry.
"Yeah?" The girl in questioned asked.
Caroline rolled her eyes. "You are going to that party. It'll be fun!"
"She doesn't want to go!" Elena yelled back.
"Uh..." Jennifer hesitated, as it was true, she didn't want to go to the party, but, Caroline was finally, truly inviting her to something. "I don't even know if I have something to wear."
"You're going?" The two girls asked, shocked but excited.
"You can wear something of mine, if you want, not that it's a party that you need to put on anything special. Just a shirt and jeans." Elena told her twin.
Jennifer smiled, but not knowing that in the future, she would hate herself for not convincing her sister not to go, and not for herself to stay inside either.

"I'm used to it. You know, it's just...call me dramatic, emotional or whatever, but, I know that no matter what, Elena will always be the chosen one."
