Neighborly Vows

Frenemies

Himari and I sit on my bed.

"So, I heard yelling and I wanted to make sure you guys were ok."

"Yea, sorry bout that,I never expected to see him here..."I reply annoyingly.

"Oh you guys must know each other."

"Yep, we knew each other ever since preschool."

"Wow, that seems nice, but why were you two so mad at eachother?"

"Well, it's a long story but, imma just tell you."

Himari grabs one my my furry pillows and gets herself comfy like she's about to watch a movie.

"I'm listening." she says.

"So it all started when it was my first day of preschool." I start off.

"I was really scared cause I didn't know anybody and everything was new to me.I was standing by the door near the classroom when Travis came up to me."

"He's the one in the living room right?" Himari asks, interrupting me.

I nod my head. "Yep.

"Ohh ok, you can finish,sorry."

"It's cool, but yea Travis walks up to me and starts talking.

*Quick FlashBack*

"What are you doing just standing there, go inside!"

" I'm too scared."

"You being a scaredy cat, haha!"

"No I'm not, I'm going to walk in right now see?" *Stomps into class*

"You're still a scaredy cat!!!"

"Leave me alone!"

"We were always fighting and basically bullying each other, but sometimes we would actually be nice to each other. But that didn't really last long. I started hugging my own pillow too.

"The final straw was when we were freshman in high school. We were at a party when for some reason, we just started arguing. It was a really bad one too. At one point I shoved Travis and he was holding some red punch which fell on my white dress. I got so mad and I punched him in the face, which made him punch back. We were just there fighting while people pulled out their phones and started recording. When the security guards came to break us up, I really lost it and threw my shoe at Travis and the heel went right in his forehead.Blood started leaking out. The next day at school I didn't see him, I didn't see him the rest of my high school year."

"Oh my gosh!" Himari 's eyes widened.

"Yea, I sometimes feel guilty bout it when I think of it."

"Wow, Himari says, looking at her watch. I gotta go, I'll see you tomorrow though!"

"Bye!" I wave at Himari as she leaves the dorm.

"What were you guys talking bout?Who was she?, yall were there for an hour." Travis asks me while I drown from his questions.

"She's my friend, and why are you worried about it?"

"Nun I was makin sure that you were ok."

I laugh,"Sure you were, like you ever cared about me."

"Aye shawty, there's nothing wrong with makin sure people are safe."

I roll my eyes, "Yea yea, and stop calling me that."

"You know, you have gotten thicker since I last saw you." Travis adds smirking.

I feel my cheeks flush."You know what goodnight to you". I stormed past him.

"Mm Ight, goodnight shawty."

"STOP CALLING ME THAT" I yell in embarrassment.

I hear Travis laugh. This was going to be a tough first year.
