The slip

Chapter 2

It's a week later February 14th

Enoch and victor had gotten closer and were technically dating??? They hadn't officially asked or said it but it was dating.

Enoch didn't know if he should get victor a gift but he made one anyway (just incase) he made him a steel ring, simple but victors initials were burned into it and there was also a gear burned in for obvious reasons.

Victor was nervous and didn't know if Enoch would like his gift, well it was more a place not a gift but he hoped he liked it.

They both stayed behind while everyone went to town for the valentines dance well it was outside and there was music and snacks for couples and kids.

Victor walked into enoch's room looking around nervously.

"There isn't any oil you put on the floor is their?" Said victor smirking

"No not this time" he said slightly smiling

"Hey...since it's Valentine's Day....." victor mumbled

Enoch looked up from what he was doing

" I have a surprise.."

"Really?"

" yea, come with me so i can show you" victor said blushing all sorts of red

"Um.. ok" Enoch said getting up

"Close your eyes!" Victor said exitedly

"O- ok" Enoch uttered while making his way down the stairs holding victors hand while he guided him

They were walking for a good 30 mins

"Dam, how far is this surprise?" He laughed

"We're almost their" Victor replied

10 mins later enoch's feet were tired and he wanted to sit down already.

"We're here" Victor said enthusiastically

Enoch opened his eyes adjusting to the light

"It's a wall" he said confused

"Oh wait" victor chuckled moving the vines out the way it was a cave? Well more like a room

It was decorated with posters, photos,a radio and a record player with a pile of records next to it.

"This is my hide out I cleaned it up for today.." he explained 

Enoch noticed a picnic basket and a few blankets

"It's really cool, you found this?" Enoch said enamoured walking in after victor, the vines and moss made a wall mostly sound proof

"Yea, I found it last year"

"And you haven't told me till now?" He utterd

"Yeah.. sorry I just wanted somewhere to be alone"
Victor explained as they sat down getting the picnic out

"Hey...I got you something " Enoch muttered

"Really?" Victor was surprised

Enoch got out the ring

" I didn't know what you would like so I just made you this...." He said handing victor the ring

"...this is so cool!" Victor said enthusiastically

He tried the ring on.... It didn't fit it was too big"

Enoch was very embarrassed

"Oh-I'm sorry I didn't think it would be-"

"It's fine Enoch I'll just..."

he looked around the room and saw a bit of string he went over and came back after a minute.

"Look all fixed!" He said clearly happy as he showed Enoch the necklace, the ring held on by a cow hitch knot.

Enoch smiled as Victor put it on enjoying this moment.

*What a idiot* he thought to himself blushing *he's my idiot*

They eat their food and listened to some music and just sat their when Enoch checked his wrist watch it was 2:10 pm the others wouldn't be back for another 2 hours.

"Hey I think we should head back.."

"What time is it?"

"2:10"

" ok..let's go then" victor said a bit displeased that the day couldn't go slower

When they got back it was about 3:00

Enoch layed on victors bed as his was the closest to the door

"That was such a long walk" enoch said out of breath
Victor layed on him hugging him

"Mhm" he hummed muffled as his head was on the others neck

They just sat their for a few minutes enjoying the moment.

"Ok can I get up please?" Enoch asked wanting to go back to his projects

"No....come on just five more minutes" he chuckled

Five minutes later they fell asleep miss peregrine walked in seeing them cuddling and placed a valentines sweet box on the end of the bed for them she shut the door behind her.

Olive walked in trying I find Enoch and saw them. She was extremely upset because she had liked him for a long time, after staring for a moment trying to see if she was dreaming she stormed out holding back tears.

The next day enoch woke up first, got dressed and  went down to meet the others for breakfast and olive,Emma, Horace and bronwyn stared at him
 
He sat down ignoring all the stares

Miss peregrine walked in with the food

"Why are you all staring at Enoch?" She said slightly perplexed

"Because he hurt olives feelings" Emma said annoyed at the boy being In The room

"....is this about him and Victor's relationship?" She said sitting down

Everyone stared at her baffled except olive still staring daggers at Enoch

"how did you know about me and-"

"You stay behind a lot, you're closer to him then anyone also the fact you were in the same bed last night doesn't help" she stated

Everyone was staring at Enoch again

"....we thought you and olive had a fight not that you were dating my brother" bronwyn said laughing

"Emma you owe me a bag of sweets!" She said chuckling

"Wait what?" Olive said confused that they weren't mad like she was

"She made a bet that if they got together she got a bag of sweets" miss peregrine explained

Victor was standing in the doorway by now

"Also you're wearing a necklace, you never wear them so you probably got it from Enoch on valentines day" bronwyn explained to her brother who sat down next to her

"Was it really that obvious?" Enoch asked

"Yes" they all said simultaneously

They all continued their daily chores like normal only olive was sad that she couldn't have Enoch, she didn't not like him because he was dating Victor but because she didn't realise it sooner that he wasn't playing hard to get he was gay! She felt stupid and a bit betrayed.
