Flipping through pages on her favorite book entitled as: A Snail’s Life, she hummed a tune together with her favorite song that is now playing on her old-fashioned radio.

Her two magenta irises read each words that were written page by page. Her warm smile enlightened the supposed to be forlorn room.

She fixed her pair of glasses to clear out the words she misread. The glasses’ owner was from a gentle-looking goat monster who wore an elegant citrine yellow gown that almost covered her feet, it was also decorated of a Delta Rune’s crest, her left furry ear was clipped by an eight-rayed sun pin, her white fluffy arms was coveted by long saffron sleeves.
The appearance made her look like a she’s from a royal family. Where she used to be one from a long time ago…

Her enjoyment died down by complete concerns after hearing a miserable female voice calling out for her. “M-mom?” she stammered, sobbing desperately to see her mother.

Toriel which was the goat monster, closed her book and placed it on top of the fireplace and went up from her large comfy bed to walk straight to a certain room. “Don’t worry my child, mother is coming.”

Inside a dimly-lit bedroom stood a bed, a child whose hair was chocolate brown was whimpering softly while brushing her face with her arm to avoid tears rolling down from her delicate visage.

A knock startled her as she panicked. What am I going to do?! stop crying Frisk! You can’t face mom like this! She thought, trying to think of a way to keep Toriel from worrying for her.

“My child? Are you in there? Would you not mind letting me enter in your room?” her mother asked, just to make sure her ‘daughter’ is comfortable. The brunette gasped with a large amount of air and exhaled hardly. “I-I’m fine, you can go in…” she muttered under her breath.

But before she could even finish her sentence, the door swung open and her mother was there, rushing for her, stretching out the two of her arms for a warm embrace.

And just as she actually did hugged Frisk, she started patting her head softly for comfort. “Shh. Please do not cry, I’m here now.” She reassured her, letting go of the short brunette. “Now tell me, was it that nightmare again my child?”

Hearing them from the goat monster lit her heart a bit of frustration, yet forgetting that she cannot feel any emotions from her tiny soul, it only results her to look like she unmoved from it sounding a little rude which she regrets the most. “You should’ve told me…”

This surprises Toriel, her eyes widening. “Umm… what do you mean by that?” she asked. Fortunately, or unfortunately, she didn’t need to wait for an answer, the chocolate brown-haired girl blurted out expressionlessly. “You should’ve told me that it was all a memory but instead, you only hide it from me for years!”

Her mother tried to explain everything, but she paused, recalling memories that she wasn’t supposed to remember. She closed her mouth and attempted on switching the subject. “I think I remembered something… Oh, me! The pie! It’s been in the oven for a long time now!”

Frisk wrinkled her face as of the sudden awkward exclamation. “The pies?”

“Yes, the pies! I forgot to take it out from the oven! Would you like to come with me and try some?”

“Err…”

“I think I take that as a yes! Come downstairs alright?” Toriel interrupted and dashed out of the room, leaving the speechless brunette in a daze. But she knew her mum would do the usual trick again.

Whenever she endeavors her mother to answer the same question, all she ever receives was books and pies. It’ll only make her more irritated.

Nevertheless, she can’t give out courage to herself to talk back to her mother like for example: pulling her mother’s hand to face back to her or even shout at her behind her back to show how she really feels from Toriel because from the hiding. It’s just too impossible!
