Chapter 6: New Students

"I know you're all excited but I have an announcement to make, we are having 2 new students, they're going into their 5th year and I expect you all to welcome them to Hogwarts!" Dumbledore called to the Great Hall. The doors opened and a sceptical looking blond came in, he was wearing a green tunic and had pointy ears, I was guessing he was an elf.

I looked at him and he looked at me, our eyes locking, the elf blushed then broke eye contact to go to the Sorting Hat. He stood next to it and looked at the Hat in curiosity. Another guy followed, he had black eyes and black, messy hair.

"Greenleaf, Legolas?" McGonagall called, the first boy sat under the hat. Legolas, I thought, that's a cute name!

"Slytherin!" the Sorting Hat cried. The Slytherin table didn't erupt in cheers like it usually did

"No way! We're not having him! He's not a Pureblood!" Mattheo yelled, I hit him in the back of the head.

"We are, we should give him a chance!" I got up and went to Legolas, taking his hand and leading him to the Slytherin table.

"Y/N, Y/N Malfoy, some Slytherins are jerks, don't mind them. I'm actually a huge fan of elves." I smiled at him, he smiled back.

Pansy started giggling and I smiled at her, she was staring at Mattheo and I looked at Mattheo as well, so did Legolas, "That's pure jealously right there! Mattheo's jealous of how you looked at Legolas!" Pansy laughed.

I turned to face Legolas and I felt arms around my waist, they pulled me back and I was held against their body.

"Fluff off elf, she's my girl!" Mattheo's voice sounded from above me, I blushed at being called Mattheo's girl. Pansy was still giggling, even more at the fact that Theo pulled me against him and called me his.

Legolas looked hurt and I felt bad.

"Aragorn II?" McGonagall then called. The black haired boy went up to the hat confidently and sat under it. I saw Legolas staring intensely.

"Gryffindor!" the Sorting Hat roared. Gryffindor table erupted and Aragorn got up and went to Gryffindor table, Legolas looked disappointed and I didn't understand why, Aragorn was way too cocky for my liking.

After the feast was over, Dumbledore asked me and Legolas to stay back, I was confused and scared, thinking I did something wrong. Legolas and I went up to Dumbledore, nervous. It had taken a while to get Mattheo to let go of me.

I would never tell anyone but I actually kind of enjoyed being in Theo's embrace.

"Miss Malfoy, since you were kind enough to help Legolas go to the Slytherin table, could you please show Legolas around the school?" Dumbledore asked me, politely. I nodded and led him out of the Great Hall.

"So that was Great Hall, we eat there." I explained. He nodded and I continued down the hallway pointing out things that he should know where it was.

"Do you like anyone?" Legolas asked, not looking at me. I blushed hard and froze in place. He stopped and looked at me.

"Yeah, I like someone, why do you ask?" I responded quickly, Legolas shrugged and continued walking, I followed behind him.

"Where do you come from?" I blurted out randomly, I saw him jump and I giggled.

"Erm... Mirkwood, it's the home of Sindar elves, which is what I am and before you ask, no, I don't know any of Santa's elves." He laughed at his own joke, as did I.

"You want some inside knowledge about the teachers before you start tomorrow?" I asked him, he nodded.

"Well, Transfiguration is when you change one thing into another and the teacher is Professor McGonagall, she's the head of Gryffindor, pretty strict but very caring, she's also a registered Animagus which means she can turn into a Tabby cat and the Ministry of Magic knows about it.

"Next is potions, it's taught by Professor Slughorn, he's pretty nice to people who have famous parents. I'm pretty sure he has daddy issues and he favourites my brother and I for some reason.

"Then there's Herbology that's taught by Professor Sprout, the head of Hufflepuff and she's really nice and Herbology is pretty much learning about magical plants and stuff.

"There's also Charms, taught by Professor Flitwick, he is very short and has a high pitched voice. Charms is just spells and stuff and one of my favourite things he's said is 'NO! EVACUATE THE CLASSROOM! MR FINNIGAN, WE DO NOT BLOW UP EVERYONES CAULDRONS!!'" I laughed and continued explaining the things to him, Legolas listening carefully.

When we finished the tour, I took him to the Slytherin common room and to his dorm, I sat on his bed for a while, just still talking to him then I went to leave.

"No, wait! Can you please stay with me? I don't like the dark..." Legolas admitted, I chuckled and lied next to him, he put his head on my chest and cuddled me. I turned red but put the doona over the both of us, eventually falling asleep.
