I scanned the forest terrain and the people around me. Matt, Jean, Beth, and Anne. "Ugh, I can't believe the others left us. We're obviously the best out of the 20 left," Beth complained, pulling out a mirror she found randomly in the forest and fixing her straight, orange hair that doesn't even need fixing. "Says you," Jean mumbled, obvious annoyance in his tone. He pulled his blonde hair out of his face before it fell back over his eye again. I groaned and slowed down until I was behind Beth and Jean so I couldn't hear their annoying ass argument as loudly. "Hey Gem, got any ideas where exactly we are?" Matt slowed to stand next to me. I shook my head and replied. "No idea." Matt sighed. "Bummer," he said. "The sooner we get out of this challenge, the sooner we know if we're dying or not." I shivered at that statement. This challenge wasn't like the others we faced. We were currently playing a form of hide and seek. 20 people go into the forest. Escape or survive before the timers up, you're safe. Get caught, you're literally dead. Just then we heard a low whistle. Everybody stopped in their tracks, a terrified look on their face. "Bush. Now," Matt whispered as he rushed everyone quietly into a nearby bush. We heard wind go by, as well as footprints. I caught a glimpse of the thing outside. A terrifying, what I'm assuming is an animatronic replica of, a wendigo. It looked around a bit, even coming close to the bush for a moment. I held my breath without knowing it. When it left, I let out possibly one of the loudest breaths I've ever breathed. "Damn.. damn, damn, damn..." Jean angrily mumbled. His voice showed anger, his face showed fear. "W-W-What.. What the hell?!" Beth screamed. "Shut up, you absolute idiot, it could still come back, y'know!" Anne punched Beth in the back. "Whatever! Everybody, just shut up! Gem, lead the way," Matt said. I smiled at him. "Right, like Gem of all people knows the way. He can't even read a map!" Beth scowled. "Ok! Enough! I do not want to have an argument right now! We all don't want to die and get eliminated by that thing! So why don't we just keep going until we reach the exit to the forest.. Ok?" I tried to make things settle down a bit. Everybody reluctantly agreed as we trekked on, being aware of that wendigo thing.
