Adrian's pov

~Days later~

"Finally my day off so peaceful and quie-"

Snapping me from my thoughts was ofcourse the most annoying guy I know, Joshua. I know this guy for almost 15 years now and he never fails to ruin my peaceful days. Guess I'll make use of my other free day tomorrow.

"I know you can hear me Adrian, open up"

Sigh....wel there goes my peaceful day.

"Yeah, yeah"

"Josh do you know what time it is" I said with an irritated voice.

"Yes I do, I'm not stupid, anyway guess what?" He said looking at me enthousiastically.

"Let me guess, you got a boyfriend?"

"It's just good news Adrian not a miracle"

"Come on have some faith you're a handsome guy"

"I know I'm handsome, that's not the problem. They just can't handle the beast in me" He said with a sly smirk. I really want to slap that smirk off of his face.

"Anyway.....I got a promotion!!"

"Really?"

Full of joy I hugged him making us lose balance and fall on the floor.

"Ouch, sorry Josh"

"Nah, I'm good, how about we go drinking later?"

"So you can flirt with guys all day long, no thanks"

"If you don't want me flirting with other guys I'll flirt with you"

Rolling my eyes I then replied.

"Oh please, I don't want my ears bleeding cause of those horrible lines and I'll go if you pay"

"Yeah, yeah" He said standing up from the floor and yes we were talking while laying on the floor.

"Ring....ring....ring"

Looking at my phone I saw an unknown number.

(V=Valentine, A= Adrian)

A: Hello.
V: Hello kitten.

Shocked to hear his voice I had to confirm if it was him.

A: Valentine?
V: The one and only

Hearing his cheeky reply the only thing I could do was smile.

V: How have you been kitten.
A: Good...wait how did you get my number?
V: I have my ways and one of them is getting scolded by an angry kitten who then proceeds to leave his number.
A: Oh right, how could I forget such an eventful day.
(Facepalms internally)

V: Haha...are you free tomorrow?
A: Yes.
V: Could you make some time for me then.

He said it in the sweetest voice almost making it seem like he was afraid that I would maybe reject him.

A: Sure, why not?
V: Really?....ok I'll text you the information and save my number ok kitten.

Hearing the last part I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

A: Yes Valentine.
V: Goodbye kitten....it was nice hearing your voice.
(Ends call)

He didn't even give me chance to reply.  Who am I kidding the way I'm blushing right now proves that I wouldn't be able to reply.

"Why are you smiling like that?" Josh said bringing me back to reality.

"What do you mean? I'm always smiling"

"No at least not like that"

"Who were you talking with?"

I really can't hide anything from this guy.

"Just a friend"

"A friend got you smiling like that? We've been friends for 15 years and you don't even smile at me like that"

"Yes I do and it's not what you think ok"

"Ok then tell me what to think" He says signaling me to sit beside him. Sigh....he's not gonna let this go.

"He's just a guy I met at work, he's really nice and good looking"

"How good looking?"

"Hot, like really hot but...that guy seems to be as straight as a ruler"

"You'll never know if you don't try"

"Come on, you know I always mess things up when it comes to dating?"

"Maybe that's why it always goes wrong, you can't say that it's not gonna work before even trying, that's just cursing yourself from the start and if you keep that up you're gonna be single your whole life"

I know that he's right but his words still hurt but that's Josh, always looking out for me like a big brother.

"I'm sorry Adrian, was I too blunt?" He said realising how harsh he was.

"Yes but you're right"

"Keep me updated on your boyfriend ok and don't forget about tonight"

"Ok see you later"
