The two sharp distinctive beeps of the taxi outside our front door was the only noise that travelled through the house. Marcus and Tony had left on the morning bus, whilst Bell had managed to steal a lift with Mother on her way past Mell’s daycare. Brett and I were the only two left wandering the large houses rooms.

Brett’s figure emerged in the frame of my door, “Sis… Your ah… car is here…” He muttered as he crossed his long toned arms over his well-defined chest.

Taking a large sigh I managed to zip the rest of my suitcase and with a huff managed to pull it off the bed. The bright green suitcase made a slight moan in the newfound weight but kept from rocking with my foot supported behind its wheels.

I nodded an “Ok” towards Brett knowing he would leave knowing that I was aware of the time and slowly he left the doorframe leaving me to my thoughts. In was only now that I realized how tiny my room was. The Purple walls looked darker then before, and the books in my room looked as if dust had already collected on them. The curtains hid the large windows that lead to the terrace with the seat covered in flowers. Smiling I chuckled as I looked over to my desk were odd photos and pieces of junk had accumulated. That was my favourite spot in all of my room; I didn’t ever bother cleaning it. It would always end up messy again soon. But now was different everything looked as if it belonged there, and cleaning it would just make it appear, out of place.

Looking over the room once again I slowly shut the black with the neatly painted in blood red Avyanna door and made the very short walk to the front door where Brett sat a grim look on his face.

“B, come on don’t look sad. Just imagine I’m Jelly-Belly and I’m going to a better place,” I smiled as I ruffled his deep brown hair.

A solemn look took over his face then one of shock, “Wait! Are you saying that Mum and Dad put Jelly-Belly down?” He quizzed, as he looked me straight into the eye.

I hated when he did that, “Perhaps another story for a different time?”  I smiled as I forced a small kiss onto his rough cheek, “I love you Brett!” I screamed as I pulled open the bright yellow Taxi.

“I love you too sis, I love you too,” Brett whispered as he shut my door for me. I smiled and turned in my seat as the taxi began to swerve down the end of my street. There my big brother stood. A single tear rolling down his face and a hand outstretched almost as if he was waiting for me to turn back around and fall into his arms.

I closed my eyes forcing the stray tear that wished to escape from falling and taking deep breaths to make sure I didn’t show my weakness.

“Its ok kiddo, my parents didn’t want me either,” The driver smiled showing his rotten deformed teeth and his short black beard. His hazel eyes had scratches over them and held the pink traces of a scar.

A small scream escaped my lips, “Oh my goodness you’re hideous!” Before I could even react to the words that had left my mouth the driver growled a deep and harsh laugh.

“My ex wife said something similar, although her words and appropriate to be said in front of such a nice young girl,” He smiled another god awful smile before continuing on looking at the never ending road.

“My god, can’t I keep things to my self?” I groaned as I smacked my head against my palm, “Perhaps I need to learn some control and keep my thoughts to my self…” My eyes bugged out of my head as I noticed the taxi drivers expression, “I said that out loud didn’t I?”

The taxi driver winked one of his better eyes, before turning the radio on with a flick of his wrist. The familiar lyrics of Imagine Dragons- Demon played through the tiny sound system.

“Don’t want to let you down but I’m Hell bound…” I sung under my breath, smiling as the lyrics washed over me, “This is where my demons hide, its where my demons hide,” I laughed as my hair swung back and forth getting into the music as best as I could in the tiny area.

“Someone’s a tiny dancer,” smiled the taxi driver as he turned the music up a little louder for me, “You ever dance?”

A giggle left my lips, “Nah… not my scene,” The taxi driver nodded in understanding

“My daughter was exactly the same,” He winked before going back into his tiny world and turning off into the airport drive.

Another 45 minutes inside the confined space was enough to freak me out, the taxi driver who I soon learnt, was named Garry had basically told me his entire story of how he and his wife met, every kind of disease he had and what they cured it with and pretty much anything else that came to his mind. And honestly I would hate to be a fly inside the walls of his brain.

The air was chilly as I stepped out of the warm and cozy cab and into the open snow of the airport entrance, “Thanks Garry, maybe I’ll see ya round?” I smiled as I snatched my bags and ran inside, glad for the distance between Garry the taxi driver and I.

The warm air of the airport flooded over me and I sighed in relief as I pulled off the scarf tied neatly and tightly around my neck.

“Next please,” Called the attendant, “Hi, What flight are you on?” She smiled her bleach white teeth sparkled at me.

Putting my hand inside my bag I riffled through trying to find the crumpled peace of paper work, “UH-HA! Got the bugger!” I jumped with glee as I paced her the required paperwork, “uh… sorry about the… uh…” I mumbled suddenly interested with the tiny hairs on the back of my neck.

“Don’t worry honey, you should see some of the guys that come through here,” She smiled kindly typing in the nesacary information.

An awkward laugh filled the air as I quickly put my things onto the belt and made my way through the endless security.
