I could feel it. It had started like this one before and it was hard to control then, and even worse to control know. Its energy was growing inside me and I had no way to let it out. I could feel it wrecking through my body trying to find anyway to escape. My fist became tight by my side my eyes flashing with red as I took in the words that had escaped my mothers mouth, “You are nothing more then a regret!” The words themselves were nothing that I hadn’t heard before, but something inside of me snapped.
In a fuel of rage my fist flew through the air only stopping when the sound of breaking bones reverberated through the air. A loud high pitch scream broke through the thick atmosphere. The anger that had fueled my anger sprang back at me, feeling as if I had been snapped back into reality by a rubber band.
Images of my surroundings fluttered through my clearing eyes, blood was the first thing I saw. It had made a neat pool around my mothers sitting body. Her fingers were stained with the red liquid, making her once white dress splotches of darkening red drops. She whimpered as my looming figure moved closer to her hunched stature.
The only words that left my mouth came out in a soft whisper as it caressed the empty air, “I love you mother,” I could hear the loud sob that left my mothers already motionless body seeming as if its only breath of life had finally been swept away and the only thing that remained was her shell.
My feet carried me towards the center of the house where a clean white staircase loomed. Each step my feet carried me out I could feel the atmosphere shifting. The house seemed to feel emptier and the hallway seemed to be gradually growing longer. Walking down the hallway felt like walking down “happy” memory lane. Images of my mother chasing me with frilly pink dresses ran across my mind, the further I walked the older I grew, eventually once I reached the only door painted black at the end of the hall the neatly painted Avyanna in a neat cursive writing stood in blood red, memories of screaming and slamming doors in my mothers face flooded through me.
Taking a deep breath I opened the heavy door and entered the sanity and normality of my room. Its deep purple walls and familiar books littered all over the floor brought me back into a calming resolve. It was over, the pain; the fighting all of it was lying in the kitchen with my mother’s blood. Anything my mother and I had once had, was now gone sitting in the pool of blood soaking into the cracks of the tiled kitchen floor. Laughter left my throat and gave my room an eerie feeling, my eyes became heavy with the extra exertion of energy and soon the only thing I could think of was putting my head on my pillow and letting my happiness follow me into my deep dreamless sleep.
