Y/n L/n was sent away from her parents when they found out that she likes girls. „What a sin, what a disgrace to the family" - they said. What could she do ? She tried telling them that it's okay, that she would change for them, that she would stop liking girls. Even though deep down she knew that was impossible, she was desperate. All her life she tried her best to make her parents proud. She always got good grades, was the best in class and now everything she did was for nothing.
Her parents where born in South Korea, but emigrated to London when Y/n was 8. She could speak korean, of course, she always talked with her parents in korean. And now she was forced to leave her life in London behind, her friends, her favorite places, her books, her clothes, everything. Her parents sent her away to South Korea with only 200£.
They paid for the plane ticket and let her take her phone and charger with her. Well, at least they did that. Once she was in South Korea, she called a taxi and told the driver to take her to the closest and cheapest motel in the area.
The motel she was staying at was in a really bad condition, but really cheap and they accepted pounds. She had to pay 25£ for a night and today was the last day she could stay there. She's been staying at the motel for 2 months and was in debt.
She was desperate to find a job, but couldn't find one. She was so sure that she was doomed.
One evening, while waiting at the train station, a man in a black suit suddenly approaches her.
------------------ 1st person perspective ----------------
— Hello young lady, would you like to play a game with me? he asks.
— Excuse me? I ask.
— A game. I'm sure you're familiar with the ddakji game. We play it, and you get 100,000 won if you win. If you loose, then I get 100,000 won. Deal? says the man.
Ddakji? Of course I know the game, but why would he give me that much money for a simple game like this? Well, I don't care, I gotta accept it because it's the only way I can get some money now.
— Okay, let's play it, I say.
— You go first, says the man.
Surprisingly, I win. Even I can't believe it. I mean, I know that I was pretty good at this game back when I was 5, but that was years ago.
— Well, here are they money. If you're interested in getting more money only by playing simple games, call this number, he says giving me a card with a number on it. But you have to decide fast, the spots are filling up.
I watch as the man starts walking, still speechless. That's it? I got all this money? Only by playing a game? I thought this was some kind of prank, but it's for real. Now I can afford to stay at that shitty motel more and I won't have to sleep on the streets.
Nice.
But maybe, maybe I could get even more money.. I wonder if I should call the number on this card or not.. Well, I'll think about it.
