I quickly go to my own room and change, throwing on some skinny jeans and a long sleeve tee, then go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and do my hair. I slip on some flats and run out the door heading to the lab where Tony asked me to meet him.
"Have fun?" He asks with a smirk as I enter. I feel my cheeks heat up as I scowl at him. He chuckles and starts working, "could you get me prototype four?"
I go to the prototypes and get the right one, a new kind of blaster, and bring it back to him. It's odd that it's not it's usual red, gold or silver, instead being a sleek purple, but he has always been one to try new things so I think nothing of it.
"Thank you, sweetheart," he says taking it from me.
"No problem."
Tony is the only man I let call me sweetheart other than my late father. Tony was there for me when my dad passed away and has been a sort of father figure while still being my boss and my friend.
I watch as he tinkers with the blaster, handing him tools and running diagnostics as needed.
"Alright," Tony finally says after nearly an hours, "ready to test it?"
"Yep," I stand from my seat as he hands me the blaster, "it's only meant to stun right?"
"Yes I would never let you shoot me if it were something worse, he chuckles as he takes a few steps back and spreads his arms, "go for it."
I put the blaster on my hand and aim at him.
"One, two," I shoot the blaster, hitting him in the stomach, "three."
It has a good amount of kick back, knocking me back a step as Tony jolts and falls back into the wall.
"You okay, old man?" I tease him a bit.
"Yep," he groans, standing straight up again, "how's the knock back?"
"Pretty powerful," I reply taking off the blaster and setting it on the desk again, "pushed me back a bit."
"Okay," he sits back in his seat, "so I need to adjust it for your weight so you don't get knocked off balance, but the suit should help with that, too."
"Wait what?" I look at him confused as he smiles at me, "why my weight? What suit?"
His grin widens.
"No way!" My jaw drops, "you're making me a suit?"
"Yep," he says enthusiastically, "bout time I did. You've been here for so long, and I've seen the way you defend yourself. You're good. And I think with some actual training, you could join the team."
I can feel tears biting at the back of my eyes before I run to him, wrapping him in a tight hug.
"Thank you so much, Tony," I mutter as he hugs me back.
He gives me one last squeeze before he lets me go, wiping the happy tears from my cheek.
"Would you like to see it?" He smiles at me as I nod.
He gets up and turns me around.
"Jarvis, open the Iron Family display case," he says loudly.
The wall opens up and I can see two nearly identical suits, one blue and one purple.
"That one is Pepper's," he points to the blue one, "and that one is yours."
I oggle at the purple suit, taking a step closer to it and running my fingers along the cool metal.
"Aw you showed her before I could get here."
I turn to see Pepper at the door, a large smile on her face.
"You knew?" I smile back at her.
"I helped design it," he comes to me and gives me a hug.
"Thank you," I whisper while wrapping my arms around her.
"You're welcome, sweetie."
The Avengers had become my second family, but the Starks had always been like my parents.
"Wait," I pull away from the hug excited, "can I help design Morgan's when she's old enough?"
Tony laughs as he puts a hand on my shoulder.
"Sure, kiddo."

I stand in the training room with Nat, ready for some real training.
"Alright, I know you know how to defend yourself," Nat says, "but now you need to learn how to me more aggressive with a fight. Not just blocking and getting your attacker away. You need to know how to actually take out you opponents."
"Okay," I nod, still a bit nervous, "aggressive not just defensive."
"Good," she smiles, "now attack me."
I throw a punch, but she easily dodges and smacks me in the back of my head.
"You're too timid, you were holding back and it made you slow," she says, "again."
She still mostly beside me so I attack with my elbow, aiming for her ribs.
She blocks and hooks her foot behind mine, yanking and knocking me on my ass.
"Ow," I groan.
"Still to timid," she looks down at me, "you won't hurt me, don't hold back."
She extends her hand for me to take and I do, letting her pull me to my feet.
Once I'm up, I take advantage and yank her forward, connecting my first with her side and hook my foot behind hers. I knock her over and press my hand against the center of her chest, holding her down, my other hand prepared to strick again.
"Not bad," she smirks, then grabs my shirt and pulls me down close enough that she can now elbow me in the face.
"Shit!"
We go back and forth for a few hours, her mostly kicking my ass, but I get a hit in every now and again.
I'm on my back trying to catch the breath that was just knocked out of me.
"You okay?" Nat asks, offering me her hand again.
"Yep," I groan as I get up.
"Need a break?" She chuckles.
"Yeah, I could use one of those," I huff out a laugh.
"Here you go, " she hands me a water bottle as I sit down in the bench.
"Thanks."
I gulp down half the bottle quickly.
"You did good," she says as she sits beside me, "and with your suit, you'll do great."
"Thanks," I sigh as I wipe the sweat off my brow, "I hope you're right."
