"Jesus, kid," Clint looks at me in shock as I walk into the main room with Nat, "what happened to your face?"
"Got the shit beat out of me," I chuckle, "Nat and I were training."
"Steve," Tony says looking for the Captain as he points at me, "naughty word."
"God," Steve throws his head back while sitting on the couch, "will you stop with that already. It slipped out."
"It's never going away, Cap," I chuckle as I plop down in the arm chair across from him.
"Hello, Dove."
I feel a kiss on my head and look up to find Thor smiling down at me.
"Hi," I reply, my voice small and quiet.
His grin widens and he places another kiss on my forehead before walking to the dining room.
"What's for supper?" He asks loudly.
"Spaghetti," Bruce answers, setting a big pot of it on the table.
Everyone gets up and heads for the dinning room, ready to eat. I get there last, and the only available chair is beside Thor. Not that I mind in the slightest.
I round the table and go to the chair but I can't sit down.
Thor's hammer is in the seat.I look to him to fine him grinning widely at his own joke.
"Move it, or I'll move it for you," I grin back at him.
All eyes are on me now as I stand behind the chair.
"I don't think I will," his shoulders shake as if trying to hold in a laugh.
"Thor, move the hammer," Tony scolds him.
"No," I look to Tony, "it's fine," I look back to Thor as I reach for the handle of the hammer, "I got it."
I pick it up with ease and walks to the balcony, throwing it as hard as I can. Once it's out of sight, I head back in and sit in the now empty seat.
Looking around the table, jaws are hanging and eyes are wide.
"Oh yeah," I grin widely, "I can do that now."
There's a beat of silence before they all bust out into questions and comments.
"All hail the queen of assgard!" Tony shouts louder than the others causing a fit of laughter.
"Asgard," Thor corrects him gruffly causing more laughter.
"Oh hey but in all seriousness," Tony sobers, "you might wanna get that before it hits a plane or something."
"Right."
I get up from the table again and go back to the balcony, extending my hand out.
I've seen Thor do it before. When it's farther away, he closes his eyes, concentrating. I do the same, concentrating on the hammer, how it feels in my hand, calling it back to me.
In just a few seconds, I feel something hit my hand roughly and I grab it on instinct before opening my eyes.
"I did it!" I jump happily before re-entering with it in hand.
"Well look at that," Clint grins, "you did."
I bring it to Thor, who takes it from me, setting it on the floor between our chairs.
"And I didn't even have to tell you how," Thor smiles proudly at me, "perhaps you were meant to be a god."
"Maybe she was in another life," Tony adds taking a bite of his pasta.
"Perhaps," Thor's gaze becomes thoughtful as he looks at me.
"I doubt I was a god," I chuckle, rolling my eyes.
He just hums in response as we all continue to eat.
Throughout the meal, we laugh and talk, Tony cracks more jokes about me being the queen of "assgard", and Thor keeps correcting him.
I love these people.
My crazy, mismatched family.~~~
"Y/n," I hear Nat calling me, interrupting my dream, "time to train."
I yawn as I sit up, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
"What time is it?" I ask, stretching.
"7:30, I let you sleep in a bit."
While it is early for me, she did in fact let me sleep in an extra thirty minutes.
We talked last night about a training schedule, agreeing that she would make sure I woke up at seven and that we would start at seven thirty. We plan to finish at nine thirty so I can still help Tony out in the lab.
I roll out of bed and change a bit sluggishly, then head to my bathroom and brush my teeth. After I rinse my mouth out, I splash myself with some cold water to wake myself up more before putting my hair up in a quick ponytail.
I slip my shoes on and open my door where I find Nat waiting for me.
"Ready?" She asks.
"Yep," I smile as we begin the walk to the training room.
"You did good yesterday but we still need to work on your footing and speed some more."
I nod, knowing very well that it's true.
I couldn't quite match her speed yesterday, and she kept tripping me up whenever my footing was shitty.
"We're gonna go until ten since we're starting a bit late," Nat adds.
"I figured," I open the door for her.
Steve stands in the room, already waiting for us.
"What are you doing here?" I ask confused.
"In an actual scenario, we're typically always out numbered," Nat starts to explain, "so Steve's here to help with you training today."
"So I'm gonna be going against the both of you."
"Yep," Steve confirms, "but don't worry, Nat might be going all out, but I'm not. Not yet anyways. We just want you to get used to having to focus on more than one opponent at a time."
"Okay," I say slowly, then take a deep breath.
"Your main focus will be me," Nat starts, getting into position, "but Steve is gonna jump in every now and then to try and throw you off. For now, you're just gonna worry about blocking his shots while you go against me."
I just nod.
Okay, fight Nat, block Steve.
Shouldn't be too hard.
