iris walked and walked over to the bus stop, getting judgmental stares from the "neighbors". they weren't her actual neighbors, as her house was farther away from theirs. she just considered them "neighbors" since one or two of them were nice to her and didn't judge her. she stopped at a small glass-made shelter with the title reading "bus stop". there were a few kids in her school already waiting for the bus.

they did a look-once-look-again at her, and she didn't mind it, as she was used to it. she waited silently, drawing hearts, stars, moon phases, frogs, and chibi mushrooms on her legs with eyeliner.

finally the bus came, and she put her eyeliner back in her bag, hopping onto the bus and making a beeline for the back, sitting alone at her usual seat. she knew that some people were uncomfortable with seeing her and her unique style when they first walk onto the bus, so she decided to stay in the back to make everyone happy. well, almost. there were... the bullies.

like literally every school setting, the bullies always liked to sit in the back to cause trouble and not get in trouble. iris knew this, but she didn't care; if she didn't mess with them, they'll leave her alone.

she tucked a piece of her hair back behind her ear as the kids at her bus stop got on. a very light pink dusted her cheeks; she knew who would get on the next bus stop. her crush, juniper.

juniper was the total opposite of iris. she wore very alt, almost emo fashion, was very likable by both guys and girls, lived with a loving, caring family, and straight.

iris sighed. 'why does it always have to be the straight ones??' she questioned herself. she had had past crushes on other girls before, but now they're all dating the "chads and brads" of the school. she wondered why girls even like the THOUGHT of being with one of them. they were so predictable, too! most likely football, soccer, baseball, or basketball star. really bad grades. very homophobic but claims to be bisexual. doesn't even notice there are at least a HUNDRED other girls like him and he picks the one with the most money.

iris gagged at the thought. 'ugh, i hate men sometimes', she thought. sure, she had male friends, but most of them were using her as a cheat-sheet for tests and for relationship advice. she sighed and stared out the window, looking for shapes in the stratocumulus clouds. 'boy, this will be a long day, i can tell...'
