➳ iii.

once the bell had rung, the students groaned whilst taking their seats and the teacher started writing on the whiteboard. the first class- biology. 

biology wasn't that hard for iris. she wasn't the best, but she wasn't the worst. there were times where her eyes would wander from the teacher over to juniper. 

juniper.  juniper with her long, golden-brown hair, her hazelnut-colored eyes, her soft pink lips... iris loved her. 

"-s..? iris....? IRIS!!" the teacher shouted. iris snapped out of her daydream and looked blankly at the teacher. "eh?" 

the class started to hold back their laughs. "i said, what or who is more important than listening to directions? you're supposed to pick a partner." the teacher said hotly. oh, right. the cell project.  

"ah, um, okay.." she got up from her seat and picked a random slip of paper in the fishbowl. this was always how they were assigned partners. 

as she sat down, she began to unfold the slip of paper. when she read her partner's name, she held in a gasp. inside was a name so nicely written, so dreamy, elegant, and lady-like: 𝒿𝓊𝓃𝒾𝓅𝑒𝓇. 

"well? aren't you going to tell us who it is?" the teacher crossed their arms expectantly.

 "ah, right. j-juniper." she said in an almost-calm tone, butterflies swimming in her stomach as she looked over to juniper, who glanced and smiled back politely. 

iris had that image plastered in her mind all day. she didn't even care when the bullies stained her new white dress with chocolate milk on the bus home. she knew this was fate.

there was a LOT going on in my life (and there still is), but i just couldn't bring myself to finish this chapter until now!
