Summary: Ron explains how weird Harry is acting around him and Harry explains to Hermione how he caught feelings for Ron and how he hasn't caught on.
Ron sat in the common room the next morning, accompanied by (let's pretend for the sake of this story that Fred and George are still at school for their 6th year) none other than Fred and George Weasley, the mischief makers of the school.
Ron had been stressing out all morning about last nights events, and the twins finally noticed.
"Ron, you've been sweating and reaching around for thin air all morning, what is going on? Are you in trouble, following in your older brothers' steps?" Fred questioned.
"No, I'm just- nothing."
He halted his sentence as soon as Harry strolled into the area, causing the twins to exchange looks.
Harry seated himself in between Ron and the other two, not paying any attention to the tension between the three.
"Morning, last night was rough on my end. What about you guys?"
"sleptfine-" Ron mumbled under his breath.
"Oh, we slept juuuust fine.~"
They obviously knew something Harry didn't, making him look up at them in utter confusion.
"Why are you guys talking like that?"
"Oh, no reason whatsoever. Just, a little someone has something to say to you.~"
George wiggles his eyebrows, giving him a bold look.
"Who?"
Both of their expressions turned into an are-you-serious-right-now look.
"He's very close, just for your information.~"
Fred chimed in, trying to make Ron turn apparently redder than a tomato, in success.
At this moment, Ron got up and walked as fast as he could out of the common room.
As soon as Ron had disappeared from view, they both leaned towards the raven haired boy.
"You know, Ron has to tell y-"
"Listen, I've got to go guys. See you later!"
And without further detail, he stood up, and walked right out of the portrait hole.
~time skip~
After about 30 minutes of thinking in Myrtles bathroom and ranting to her about the situation at hand, he decided to tell someone who was solid and alive.
Hermione, just the person.
He started at a jog before switching to a full run, a little desperate.
The last thing he wanted to do right now was run into either the twins or Ron again.
He eventually found Hermione hanging out under a tree on the grounds, peacefully reading a romance novel.
"Hermione!!"
The sudden exclamation clearly shocked her, for she jumped as the book flew out of her hands and right at Harry's face.
"Oh, sorry Harry!"
She stood up and grabbed her book, fixing his crooked glasses as well. He shook his head as a dismissal for what just happened, not having the time to dwell.
"I've been looking for you everywhere! Listen, I need some help."
She sighed and put one hand on her hip, narrowing her eyes.
"Not with homework! I need- uh- advice. Specifically dating advice."
She suddenly raised her eyebrows and clearly was a ton more interested.
"Im listening."
"So, uhm, there's this- person- that I am really interested in and I've been really wanting to ask them out but I know they don't like me back because they're a little too comfortable around me so I know they don't have feelings or else he would be much more fidgety knowing the kind of person he is and I just don't know what to say to him because I don't know if his parents and siblings will still like me after I confess because they'll find out eventually and I'm just really nervous!!"
".........right. And who is this person?"
"That's none of your business Hermione!"
"I'm just trying to help, Harry!"
He ran a hand anxiously through his hair, sweat collecting at his hairline as his cheeks flushed slightly.
"Well?? Do you have any advice??"
"Well, just go for it, Harry. Or, I really don't suggest this, but you could slip a truth potion in his drink to see if he likes you back or not.. but I really don't think you should do that! The first one is-"
"Thanks Hermione!"
He had already began trotting away, his mission now very clear.
Get the truth out of Ron.
Meanwhile..
"You lot aren't being helpful whatsoever!"
Ron was practically yelling at his beloved twins, unable to sit still in his four poster, Fred and George having the time of their lives.
"Okay, so you're telling us that you honestly don't know if you like him, yet whenever you're around him you 'yearn for his touch and just want to be near him all the time'?"
"Yes!!"
"Sounds to me like you've got a little case of love sickness," Fred teased.
Ron just became even more infuriated, causing laughter to come from both of the boys.
George stopped to sigh.
"Listen, in all seriousness, just ask him out Ron. You can't live your life hiding from him forever. You've got to tell him eventually or he'll just find out the hard way. Just go for it. Or don't, we don't care."
He shrugged before standing up and leaving the dorms, Fred following and leaving Ron to sit and bathe in his thoughts.
He decided to suck it up and do it.
Would he really?
Probably not.
