Summary: Ron ends up not confessing, yet Harry makes the first move. 👀
Harry sadly ate his dinner, very lazily spooning food into his mouth.
However when Ron appeared in the seat across from him his mood changed completely, as he now was very energetically stuffing his face.
"So, Ron, what took you so long to get down here??"
Harry spat mashed potatoes onto the table in attempt to talk with his mouth full.
"Uh.. just- doing some work- last minute extra credit, you know?"
He began stuffing his face as well to avoid more questions, Hermione catching on immediately to how both of them felt about one another.
"So.. Harry, Ron.. big test tomorrow, right? For Professor Snape? You guys should use that book and help each other with that!"
Both Harry and Ron gave her suspicious glares.
"But I thought you were completely against using that book for quizzes and tests and stuff?" Harry inquired.
"Well, I just figured since it was helping Harry's grade, it would surely do the same for yours Ron!"
"Mhm."
He was still eating at a rapid pace, somewhat knowing what Hermione was doing.
"Gotta use the restroom, hang on!"
She made a weird hand gesture to across the table, and, strangely, Ginny got up at the same time as Hermione as they both headed to the bathroom.
Harry and Ron were quiet for the rest of the meal, until Harry decided enough was enough and spoke up.
"So.. Ron.. oh Ron.. about what Hermione said, I could surely help you study tonight, if you'd like..! We both need some extra help with that class anyways.. heh..!"
Ron looked up to catch his awkward little smile that Ron adored so very much.
"Yeah, that'd work."
The rest of the meal went on in silence however, both of them silently glancing up and adoring the other.
After breakfast came free time, then lunch, then dinner, then their study time.
The day just flew by so fast, it was as if both of the boys just wanted this part the most.
Harry was the one to arrive first, the room choice being the Room of Requirement.
Ron paced in front of that familiar blank wall and though exactly what Harry told him to three times before he stepped through the door that had made itself known for him.
The room was just a basic little study area, a long desk that could fit at most two people at it was placed somewhere to the side of the room, a few more beside and in front of it. A small beanbag chair was placed delicately in the corner of the room near a bookshelf stocked with hundreds of books, from big dictionary's to small picture books for toddlers.
Harry was sitting at one of the tables for two, looking up to see Ron and smiling, patting the chair next to him and reaching into his bag for the book.
"Took you long enough! Come have a seat."
Ron complied and seated himself, the chair seeming to be oddly closer to Harry's than the rest of the desk chairs were to each other.
He was just imagining it.
Just dazed after this mornings events.
That's all.
Ron put his elbows on the table, hunching over to match Harry's height to see the pages better.
Harry adjusted his glasses before beginning to point at certain lines and read them aloud, occasionally giggling or shrugging and glancing at Ron, who was completely zoned out on Harry.
Everything about him just seemed so perfect right now, his raven colored hair, his bright, emerald green eyes, how soft his hair looked...
He caught himself mid-going to touch his hair, blinking rapidly. He just wanted to ruffle it up and run his fingers through it, yet his hand retreated back to the table.
Harry eventually snapped the book shut after slipping a book mark into it, gazing at Ron.
"Well, I believe that's a good point to end it at! What do you think?"
"Er- Yeah, I think so."
Harry eventually sighed and intertwined their fingers together, staring at their hands.
They fit together like puzzle pieces.
Ron blushed profusely, avoiding looking at al costs.
Harry was a bit hurt by this, pulling his hand away and staring at the floor.
Before either of them could say anything, Harry got up, grabbed his bag, and left.
