Ingrid's POV
This was it. The first day of school.
Ingrid couldn't help of being nervous. As her father was driving, as if sensing her thoughts he said, "Stop being nervous, mija. (Ingrid is Spanish. Ace is Portugese.) You've been to multiple schools before. This shouldn't be any different. Besides, what's you first class?" I smiled. I was a total daddy's girl, and wasn't afraid to show it.
"I have Physical Geography first," I replied, appreciating the fact that my dad was trying to take my mind off of what was happening.
"Oh, well, you should ace this 'cause you took a Geography course for 2 months," said my mom smiling at me.
"Yeah," I agreed. "It's also my favorite."
My mom turned around and looked at my sister. "Sarah, my darling girl. Are you excited or nervous?"
"Excited, " she replied, not missing a beat.
I looked at her, surprised. Today was the first day that she would be starting any school at all. My family had basically homeschooled her for Pre-K, but she wasn't nervous?
My mom voiced my thoughts, "Not nervous?" she asked.
"Nope," Sarah replied happily.
"Girls, we're almost here," my interjected driving the car towards the playground where the door was to the locker hall. When we stopped at the playground, my dad turned to look at us, "Good luck. If you can get through today, we can have Tortilla Española for dinner. If you don't, well. . . Only I get to eat it, then."
"Not even me?," my mom asked, amused.
"Not even you," my dad said smiling at her.
"We're here!" Sarah chirped. I breathed in and out deeply, trying to calm myself down. "Bye, Mama, Papa," Sarah and I both said.
We both got out of the car, and immediately a teacher came to Sarah and lead her to her classroom.
Okay.
I'm by myself now.
Yay life.
I headed over to my locker and looked at the first class I had. Phys Geo.
A voice broke me away from my thoughts. "Are you Ingrid Johnson?" the person next to me asked.
I turned and stared. The boy next to me was putting his binders and his locker. The boy had black hair, and dark hazel eyes. After a second, I realized that he was talking to me.
"Yes, how do you know my name?" I asked.
"Well, you're the girl that Ace keeps day-dreaming about. Every girl in this entire grade is jealous of you. Well, except Nadya Butler. She's the only person who can resist him. I have a feeling that you two are gonna be good friends. Anyway, back on topic. Don't be surprised if you get threatening talks from girls by the way. Oh, and my name is Aanav Adle."
Amerigo Valenti as Aanav Adle:
"Well, how would they even know that I'm Ingrid Johnson?" I countered.
"Ace took a pic of you and showed it to everyone," he replied bluntly.
Why, that little. . . . I am seriously gonna kill him. . . .
"And how the bloody hell did he manage to take a picture of me?" I asked, stewing in my own fury.
"His house is right across yours-- You didn't know?" Aanav asked, surprised.
"No, I didn't know," I said, trying to keep my cool. Aanav looked at his watch and said, "We're gonna be late for Phys Geo-- oh, and by the way, Ace is in the class." Then he sped off.
I quickly grabbed my stuff for Phys Geo and entered the Phys Geo classroom.
This is going to be one heck of a year.
* ~ *
It was now officially PE.
It was also the time where the boys decided to start act like constipated monkeys.
They went absolutely WILD in PE.
They started jumping up to reach the hoop.
And the worst part?
Ace was in this class. And he had been avoiding me all freaking day. Not to mention the glares I got from the other girls. All, except one.
Nadya Butler.
In fact, she glared back at them.
"They're acting like monkeys, aren't they," a voice broke me away from my thoughts.
I turned to see Nadya. "Yup, they so are. It's so annoying."
"Want to sit with me at lunch?" She asked.
We get assigned seats in lunch. You get to decide who you're sitting next to, and its your permanent seat for the rest of the year. Yep. I know. It's cruel. I figured Nadya was nice enough, so I agreed with her.
I felt someone's eyes on me, and turned to see Ace shamelessly checking me out. I went over to him, but he just ran away. Ok, that's how he wants to play? I chased him throughout the gym and when I finally caught up with him, I tackled him to the floor.
