The Mansion on the hill was abandoned longer than I was alive. I heard stories from elders who said the house was abandoned around their childhood, they didn't know who the house was owned by, but that didn't stop the rumors. People thought so many different things about the place and the ones who used to own it that I can't remember them all, they all melded together. But as I approach the front door I remember all the stories of demons infesting it to a serial killer inhabiting it. I open the front door I realize that I'm the first one to enter for a long time. There are suitcases near the front door like someone was leaving and the furniture was covered in a thick layer of dust. The chandelier was moving slowly. I stared at it and as I did it got slower and slower until it stopped. I walked deeper inside and saw a piano. I open the cover and try to play it. The piano sounds like it's worn from decades of use and damaged from decades of unuse but still sounds decent. I look around and see the windows are entirely undamaged with only dust covering them. With every step to the stairs up to the second floor, there is a creak from the floorboards. I get to the top of the stairs and start checking rooms and one of the doors is ajar. the children's bedroom Inside is two beds and both are unmade with sheets and pillows askew. What I assumed is the master bedroom looks like a tornado hit it, books on the shelf were strewn about on the floor. Furniture and trinkets were broken and thrown about. On one dresser there was a note that was almost illegible except for the words "other woman" I assumed the stains were tears. I went back to the hall and found a double door and entered. It was a study with a fireplace and chair. In the chair was a skeleton of what I assumed was a man and the collar of his shirt was stained dark red. I was horrified by the sight before me and I was about to leave but something pulled me back to the hallway and lead me to the one door I didn't open yet. Inside was a sight that made me cry. A bathtub with two little skeletons inside and a bigger one next to it with a blade in its chest. I left the house and as I stepped out on the porch I realized the night had no wind which made the fact of the two swings going back and forth much worse. I now know the story of Mansion on the hill, but stories are stories, and all stories have grains of truth inside them. There was killer inside and there was something inhabiting that place.
