I've been walking this path in the woods for about an hour now, I dont know what to do, I keep hearing strange noises. I'll start from the beginning to have this make sense.
I like to hike in the woods alone, it gives me some much-needed time to breathe. I work at a really boring office job and this is my only respite from the boring hell I'm living in.
I got in my car after a long day at work and went to this old pathway my friend told me about, he said it was one of the most fun hikes he's had since he started hiking. Today sucked, my boss wouldn't stop pestering me about random bullshit even though I had a deadline so I thought I could use a good night hike
I got out of my car and headed towards what I thought was the path. It was a little hidden but my friend told me that about the trail.
I had to climb through some thin brush but after I did I saw the trail. I've never seen such a gorgeous trail before, It looked so peaceful. Just what I needed after such a bad day.
After walking for about thirty minutes I started to notice something, I couldn't see the stars. That by itself isn't that weird, what was odd was the fact I could see them on my drive here.
I chalked it up to random happenstance because truth be told I dont know much about light pollution and things like that.
Another 7 minutes go by and I realize I can hear the sound of leaves crunching around me, any time I would stop to listen they would be gone.
I'm not a paranoid person but I swear anytime I turned around I could see just past what I could see, I could see a shape moving in tandem with the mist around it. Like it was made of the mist itself. I wiped my eyes and it was gone. Once again I chalked it up to random happenstance, maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me.
I sped up a bit, just wanting to get to the end of the trail and be done with it. But the noises got louder and more distinct, but as soon as I actively listened for them, they would be gone.
I stopped one last time to look back, this time the footsteps didn't stop. They changed location.
By the time I turned around, the noises were behind me again. I turned around to the direction I was just walking and saw it standing there in the tree line, just barely visible.
I quickly turned back around and started to walk in the direction of my car.
I can't really explain what it looks like, I didn't get a clear look at it. The fog and the fact of how far away it was obscured it.
The situation is way worse for the fact that I should've been back to my car about ten minutes ago, or at least the area should look more familiar. But it doesn't.
You might be wondering why I'm not sprinting to my car, there's a good reason for that. I'm certain they're going to catch me If I do.
I say they as in plural, I'm sure there are more of them now. At least 7 behind me, not to mention the ones I can see sitting in the trees watching me.
At this point, I'm certain I'm not getting back to my car. It's been far too long of a walk back for me to still be in the woods.
I only writing this as a way of letting people know how I died, I'm certain I will.
This is also a warning, use me as an example. If your gonna go on a night hike, Be familiar with the trail.
