(A/N) What's up yall...I managed to study some History but the world of Loki has brought me back to writing.
"It's so easy for a lonely individual to begin fantasizing about what the people say about him and . in the end, he might fearfully, irrationally, angrily fancy himself a villain"
-----------------------------------------
Loki was absolutely exhausted, he was tempted to fall asleep in his current position but the gaze of a certain brunette a few feet away stopped him. Loki knew that the moment he fell asleep his nightmares would come to life quite literally and he wasn't about to show Stark just how weak he was. So instead he trained his eyes on the floor trying his best not to move so that Tony could divert his short attention span elsewhere. He tensed under Tony's sharp gaze, sure that the builder was uncovering all his secrets and flaws just through one look.
When Stark got up to leave, taking the stairs two at a time and not saying a word to Loki another small piece of hope that the god had died out. Sitting alone and stewing in his thoughts the raven-haired man waited for someone to come back, for someone to come down the stairs again.
"Mother!" I yelled jumping in my room waiting for her to come back. She had gone in the next room for 'just a few minutes as she said because Thor had dragged her to his sword collection. My thirteen-year-old brother couldn't seem to get combat out of his mind and every conversation we had either started or ended with that topic.
I didn't know much about fighting and weapons so Thor had told me to stay back claiming that his collection was too marvelous for a five-year-old to see. I didn't mind staying back because it gave me a bit more time to practice the new trick that I had learned all by myself. I had secretly been taking several advanced books out of the library eager to learn something that would cause my parents to gasp in surprise.
The trick was quite difficult to master but after two weeks of studying and barely eating nor leaving my room I considered myself ready to show mother my trick, perhaps her reaction would give me the courage to show father. After an hour of waiting, I slowly walked into my brother's room met with the sight of my overjoyed brother who was explaining everything about wielding a weapon to my mother.
Jumping onto the bed discreetly I curled into my mother, listening to Thor with rapt attention his lively commentary pulling me into the conversation. "Brother! I told you to stay in your room!" Thor yelled his electric blue eyes meeting my emerald gaze. "But, I want to know more about the sword!" I said back crawling closer towards the blonde. "Leave!" he commanded his sudden change in tone causing me to go rigid.
Only Odin used that voice with me and suddenly the memories of the punishments I was given came flooding back and I ran out of the room, stumbling over my own feet in fear. I waited the entire day for mother to arrive so that I could surprise her but even after the click of the opposite door was heard no footsteps were heard in my room and my excitement slowly deflated inside me.
"Loki?" Tony whispered from outside the glass cage, a plate of food in his hand and a worried expression gracing his feature.
"Loki?" Frigga whispered her stern voice rousing me from my sleep. "Mother!" I cried in joy leaping up, my eyes bright. "What is this?" Odin said his voice floating from behind me. The sight of my father ignited some fear inside me but the excitement to show both of them what I had learned extinguished that emotion. "What is wha-" I stopped face to face with two Frigga's one running her hand through my hair and the other glaring at me with a stern look.
"It- It's a new tri- trick mother." I stuttered unaware of how I had conjured the illusion in my sleep. In a flash, Odin had reached out his hand coming into contact with my cheek causing me to back away into the pillow and hide in my illusion's embrace. "IF I EVER SEE THIS AGAIN! I will not hesitate to have you in the dungeons boy!" He yelled coming closer to me. Unable to speak I simply nodded pulling away from the magic.
The instant that my mirage vanished I felt even more alone under my mother's disapproving gaze and Odin's fierce one. The king soon stormed out of the room his guards stationed at the door following him out. "I thought I was your teacher." My mother said her voice laced with sadness. I looked at her with wide eyes, "You are mama! Please don't stop teaching me!" I yelled, panicking. "You seem to be doing fine without me, why don't you just learn from the library now." She said, her tone venomous before storming out.
My eyes were full to the brim with tears and I was tempted to bring back my illusion. Instead, I welcomed the sharp pain in my heart using it to build a wall around my emotions. I wouldn't show anyone what I felt anymore even if it meant being lonely. Despite that I still waited the entire day for Thor to come and comfort me, sobbing into my pillow when he failed to show up.
"Lokes I'm going to do a very stupid thing now ok?" the genius muttered trying to grasp the attention of the half-present god. Typing a code into the panel he watched as the door slid open and instantly he stepped into the prison cell walking towards the distraught god.
"What the fuck is wrong with you right now Loki!" Tony yelled seeing the god flinch slightly "Why aren't you answering me godammit." he said before kneeling down and pulling the hood off of the prisoner. "Fucking hell," Tony whispered dropping the plate of food with a crash.
