COURT

The past two days since John B was arrested. Sarah couldn't bear to go home, so she had practically moved in with Lexie. The other pogues had all gone, though Lexie wasn't to keen on the idea of JJ going home, he promised her it would be fine.

The day John B was taken, the group were taken to the police station to answer question before being released. Sarah was heartbroken. She sobbed in Lexie's arms for hours. Lana made snacks and drinks for the two girls, she ran them baths and did everything a motherly figure could do in a time like this. 

Two days pasted since then and the remaining 5 pogues found themselves sitting in the court all together behind John B as it was his hearing. 

"surely it won't be anymore than 10 years" Lexie whispered to JJ who sat closely next to her. "i don't know, hopefully its less than 5" Jj whispered back. Lexie took a deep breath before resting her head on is shoulder.

He kept his hand on her thigh, rubbing circles, keeping the girl calm. 

Pope sat on the other side of JJ while Kie and Sarah squeezed to the seats in front of them. Shivers went through Lexie's body as she heard the strikes of the gravel. "John Booker Routledge, pursuant to the North Carolina statute section 14, you are charged with murder in the first degree with aggravated circumstances, if convicted, the maximum sentence would be the death penalty " another in of the gavel travelled through Lexie's body. 

There was gasps and muttering from people all around. Lexie froze in her spot, she turned to see JJ whose breathing had quickly quickened.  "Your Honor he's 17!" JJ cried our standing up. 

Lexie stood next to him holding his hand, "JJ c'mon" Lexie mumbled trying to pull him away, Pope tried to help by pushing the boy, "He's 17! are you kidding me?" he yelled again. 

"Yo your good" Pope repeated. The two girls had stood up with the others, "hey John B, we're gonna figure it out!" JJ said pointing to the boy who looked like he just hit rock bottom. 

"John B! John B!" Sarah said launching herself forward, Lexie and Kiara ran up to her just as a cop grabbed her. "Stop! don't touch her!" Kiara yelled at the cop. "Sarah, babe, c'mon, we'll figure it out" Lexie said holding the girl. "lets get out of here" Kiara said as the three walked out. 

They made their way down the steps, people from the whole island flooded out. Lexie couldn't help but just stare at one particular family. 

"is this a joke? like are we in hell or ?" Kiara said angrily. "I should have never of come home" Sarah sighed, Lexie grabbed onto her hand, squeezing it. 

"They're gonna kill him guys, i know it -" JJ started before all of them turned to see Ward and two other people talking, one a random Kook and the other one was Peterkin's family member. "I'm so sorry what you guys are going through, Thank god the system works" The Kook said.

The group watched them angrily, until a very angry Kiara stepped forward, "can you please shut up? of course you think the system worked because it was made to protect you and people like you" Kiara eyed them off. 

Lexie stepped forward with her, eyeing them off. She crossed her arms as she had a glare off with Ward. "he'll have his day in court, a jury will decide" The man said calmly. 

"He shouldn't even be in court!" Lexie spoke up, "You should, because you're the murderer" Kie finished off pointing to Ward. "You have a lot of nerve showing up to court" she finished off.

Shoupe and a couple of other police had now joined to see what he yelling was about, "i know you're upset, i understand you're upset, okay?" Ward said thinking it would fix everything.
