IN THE SNAKES EYES

Amelia pov

I watched as Hermione stared at our favorite book that we always snuck in to read in first year.

She couldn't see me but I could see her. She slammed the book shut and then put it up, a tear fell down her eye.

Ron then walked towards her,"Are you alright?"

"Where did you come from?" She asked wiping her tears and then turning around.

"Outside?" He said."Harry is getting something from the dorm then coming here so we can walk to class."

"You let him go alone?" She asked.

"Yeah?"

"He could do something to himself!"

"He won't. I mean at least I don't think so.."

Harry pov

You're learning about thestrals today, Hagrid's class.

"Ooh, really fun." I joked in my mind.

She laughed making me laugh.

Amelia disappeared as the door swung open showing Ron and Hermione.

"You're still alive!"

"Sadly."

"You can see thestrals? Can you longbottom?" Asked Umbridge.

Neville nodded

"My..my grandad," said Neville.

"What do you think of them?" She asked.

"Well—" said Neville nervously,"They're...er... okay."

"Students are intimidated to admit they are frightened." Said Umbridge.

"What no! I'm not frightened!"

"That foul, lying, twisting old gargoyle garbage!" Stormed Hermione, half an hour later. "It's her think about halfbreeds all over again! Making Hagrid seem like a dim-witted troll! It's no fair! If it was those blast-ended skrewts again but thestrals! They are fine!"

"Umbridge said they are dangerous," Ron said.

Then Hermione went on about some stuff, ending her sentence with a "i wish I could see them!"

"Do you?" I asked quietly.

She looked horrorstruck.

"I'm sorry—That's not what I meant— I really am sorry!"

"It's alright. Don't worry."

"I'm surprised so many people could see them." Ron said."Three people in class."

"Yeah, Weasley, we were just wondering," said a malicious voice nearby. Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle were behind us. "D'you reckon if you saw someone snuff it you'd be able to see the quaffle better?"

Crabbe and Goyle then started to sing "weasley is our king." As they walked towards the castle.

"All those poor elves who I haven't set free yet, having to stay over during Christmas because there aren't enough hats! Amelia would be so disappointed!"

I bent lower on my essay, should I tell her about Dobby having all the hats? No it would hurt her so much.

I really wanted to leave Hogwarts, see Sirius and mot have to worry anymore. Hagrid will probably be put on probation, someone might find out about the D.A , and I'm banned from quidditch. Hermione is right, Amelia would be disappointed.
