I woke up a loud crashing noise. He's back. My step-dad. An abusive assailed. Someone I wish my mom never married. The sound of something crashing made me sit up. I knew he was drunk and to always lock my door. But will mom be fine? Will she make it through the night? How can she put up with a guy like him? A guy who doesn't even care about what he does to other people. If he hurts them, or even if he almost kills them.

I knew better than to leave my room. But the fact of my mom getting hurt scares me. I can't lose another person close to me. Even if their not my real parents.

I slowly got up out of my nice warm bed. Only to return right back to it as I heard a gunshot. Oh God I hope he didn't kill my mom. I don't want to go back through the foster system. I hate that system. I've only been with this woman for 5 years. Before her, I was going in and out of homes. Not the best childhood.

Two years later

Being a junior in high school sucks. Even thought many things happen over the past two years. Two of my closest friends were murdered my my step-dad before he was sent to jail. He also ended up killing half the kids at my school. I knew it was going to happen because of how cruel and thoughtless he was. But I wasn't expecting him to go on a rampage all because my mom wanted a divorce.

It's already the 5th week into school. Strange things are happening thought. Kids are starting to disappear, not coming back to school. It's the strangest thing. One day their there, and the next their not.

Never one have I seen this many kids disappear. I know somethings up, but what?

I walked into my fist class of the day. I knew that I would pass this class, mainly because it's easy. English is always easy. Davy, one of my friends for the past few years, took a seat next to me. He knew a lot about me, mainly because I was the most comfortable talking to him.

"How was your morning?" He asked. I looked up at him.

"I wish the class were here. Barely anyone is here today. Only you, Chris, Ben, Khanna, and me are left." I sighed. He knew I wished for them all to come back. Ben walked into class and sat behind me.

"Oi, Emara. Where is Madi?" He asked. To think I once like him. 6 foot 2 inches. Blonde hair. Blue eyes. Smart. But a total jerk.

"Don't know," I answered quietly. I never really spoke up. But I knew how to voice my opinions.

"Okay then..." he sounded annoyed. I rolled my eyes a d got up, collecting my things. I walked over to the teacher.

"I'm going to go read out side for this period." I said before leaving the class. I walked up the hill and sat down. I pulled my book out if my bag.

After a few minute a guy walked up to me. He had a school badge on him. "Ah, Amara Junoper. How have you been?" He asked.

"I'm good," I answered.

"Good, I sorry for bothering you, but would you come with me?" He asked. I silently agreed and followed him. He lead me into the principals office where they drew my blood and put it under a microscope.

"She's the one we've been looking for," the principal whispered. I looked from her to the strange man.

"We can't let him find her," the strange man said to the principal. They both looked at me and smiled.

"We have come to the conclusion that you will be leVing here since it is no longer safe for you," the principal smiled.

"Why?" I questioned.

"Well..." the principal trailed off.

"Your the lost elven princess," the strange man finished for her. I looked at him.

"The lost what now?" I chocked out.

"The lost elven princess. Supernatural beings live on this world," he started to explain. "16 years ago the heir to the elven princess was stolen. Elves, Vampires, Demons, Werewolves, Faris, and Human all live in this world. Vampire and Elves teamed up to take down the human race. Mainly because humans were starting to overpopulate the world, but also because humans are less superior."

"So your telling me that I, someone who barely has friends, is the heir to a mythical race?" I asked.

"Sort of. You'll learn as you go," the principal said before standing up. "But for now, the less you know, the better."

"OH, and you will eventually find your perfect match around 18. Either a mate or beloved," the strange man said.

I followed them out of the building and into a car. I knew that I would be safe for the time being. But for how long is still unknown.

I looked out the window and watched as the trees and building passed by. I had a strange feeling that I wouldn't be seeing this place for a long time.

4 hours later

We pulled up to this huge manner. People were outside talking, playing games, and having fun. It looked like they were all happy. I thought back to Davy. He always told me how a lot of guys wanted me to be their girlfriend. And that Chris was always watching me from a distance. But I never noticed.

We got out of the car and walked into the manner. The man lead me into a huge office. A woman sat behind a desk in a big chair.

"Ah, Princess Amara. I am headmaster Rebecca," the woman said. "We will be getting your belongings here soon. Along with all the information you need. This isn't a school, so don't worry about rules. All we do here is have you get good relations with the others. Make friends. And find your perfect match." She's stopped when her phone started ringing.

"Ma'am, we've found the Vampire Prince! But he's fighting us!" A man said from the other line of the phone.

"Tell him, if he doesn't come with us, he will never see his beloved." She said coldly. The other line went dead as she looked at me.

"I'll take her to her room," the man from before said.

"Yes, that will be good. When he comes, same room as her," she instructed him. And with that I was lead out if the office and up a bunch of stairs. It felt as though I was climbing for hours. Only to find out it was only 10 minutes.

They ended up putting me in a tower. A large bed, bathroom, and a few other things. I walked over to the bed and sat down, pulling my phone out of my back pocket. I texted Davy telling him I was fine.

Guess what idiot got into a fight after you left - Davy

I looked at the text wondering who could have gotten into a fight. Before I could text back, he texted me again.

Chris- Davy

I had to laugh at that. That moron was always getting himself into trouble. But the funny thing is, I never really talked to him, other than when I texted him.

I laid my phone down next to me on the bed and looked up at the ceiling. I knew something was going to happen. But what exactly was going to happen?
