Just Another Manic Monday
"God, I'm exhausted." I sighed as I plopped onto my office chair. I turned, since it was a swiveling chair, and faced outside. I loved the beautiful view I had of Key Biscayne from up here, it was just so peaceful. I sighed as I rubbed my eyes.
I didn't get much sleep last night. In fact, we got home so late I wouldn't be surprised if Lara didn't show up at all. I wonder when the last time she had to wake up at 7:00 am to be here by 8:00 am was. I closed my eyes, trying to rest them for just a second, when someone called my office phone.
"Yes?" I groaned after I swiveled in my chair and picked up the phone to my ear.
"Um, you have a visitor for you. She's been waiting for you for half an hour. Should I-" Betty paused and I heard the sounds of heels clicking against the floor, and they grew louder as they came closer to the door. "No, wait, Miss, you can't just go in-"
All of a sudden I heard the sounds of my office door click open.
"Hello, Mr. Isaacs." I saw the lovely, quite flirtatious Lara Carter laugh as she over-pronounced every syllable of my last name, walked in and shut the door behind her as if she owned the place.
My jaw almost fell to my chest as the beautiful woman before me held two cups of coffee and was so bright and cheery looking that she basically shined. I was in shock.
She was awake. She was here.
Well, this was certainly a surprise.

I waited for Christian to take me in. He looked so shocked when he saw me enter his office, and I'm quite sure I heard him gasp when he caught sight of how awake and prepared I looked. I tried to dress to perfection by wearing pastel make up, earrings, blouse, and shoes, because it was in season for the summer, and because it would make me come across as happier. I had a beautiful light crème, sleeveless and flowy, professional looking, yet chic, Chanel blouse, tucked into a tight, bandaged tan-colored Herve-Leger skirt that made it just past the middle of my long legs - sure the skirt was a bit short, but it didn't stop me from looking professional, it just made me look a little sexier was all. I wasn't a fan of looking overly provocative, but since this was the only skirt that matched my beautiful tan Christian Louboutins I just bought, I made a small exception.
"You actually made it." He laughed after a few seconds of silently examining of my appearance.
"I told you I would." I rolled my eyes as I walked over to his desk and plopped the Starbucks coffee onto his 20 foot glass desk, and then looked back up at his shocked face. "You can close your jaw now, such dramatics are opposite of necessary." I sighed with a smile as I saw Christian's cheeks blush and immediately snapped out of his pensive behavior.
"You brought me the lifeline. You're a goddess." He nonchalantly tried to brush off what happened earlier, and grinned as he reached over for the coffee that was right in front of me. He grabbed it, sipped it, and groaned.
"Are you sure this isn't the first time you've woken up this early? I'm not the one that seems a bit new to waking up before the suns out." I laughed as I fiddled with the long and loose necklace I had on, that reached the top of my waist-high skirt. I could tell the weakling in front of me was exhausted. Sure, my maids had to basically throw ice cold water on my face this morning to get up but he didn't need to know that.
"I'm sorry that I only got about two hours of sleep last night, if that." He grumbled like an old man.
"You got two hours? Lucky." I laughed, taunting him right before he took another sip.
