"You're crazy. My dad would never let me work for you." She rolled her eyes and laughed loudly. As if the mere thought was delusional.
Well those were certainly not the first words I thought were going to come out of her mouth.
"Ah, so what they say is true." I smirked.
"I'll have you know I'm not afraid of going against my dad." She pursed her lips into a smile, as if challenging me.
"I was talking about not wanting to work." I smiled with all my teeth, a laugh threatening to come up and ruin the cool and superior demeanor I was carrying.
"You think you're so funny, don't you?" She glared at me with a smile at the curve of her lips. "I'm extremely hardworking. I could do anything, and I'm sure being your personal secretary would be ridiculously easy." She rolled her eyes as she tried to walk away.
"So that's a yes then?" I called.
"Hell no!" She almost yelled, a few people turned around and looked at her and then, her cheeks blushing red, she walked over closer to me, grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the area where she took Cassie earlier. Near the bathrooms, where no one could see us.
"If you wanted to be alone with me you could've just asked." I smirked.
"Please don't give me more reasons to hate you because I have way too many already." She put her finger up as if to stop me, and shut her eyes tight. "I'm not going to work for you because there's no incentive for me to work for you. I don't need the money, I don't need the extra stress, my father would have my head-"
"Excuses, excuses." I waved my hand up in front of her face and I might as well have raised a red flag in front of a bull. "All I hear are more reasons why the rich, spoiled girl doesn't want to work."
"Oh, I'll do it." She hissed and walked very close to me. When she raised her head to look up at me, her face was so close to mine I'm sure if there were people around they would think we were about to kiss, I could even feel my breath bouncing back to me as it hit her face. As flattering as it would be to think that my presence made her cheeks blush and breaths increase rapidly, I knew it was actually because she was dying to slap me.
"Perfect, then I'll see you at my office tomorrow then." I grinned as I found myself occasionally glancing at her rosy lips. I was challenging her for no other logical reason than the fact that I liked to see her bent out of shape.
"I can't-" she paused and bit her lip as she stepped back and looked down at the floor. "I mean," she grabbed her arm. "Ihavetoaskmyfather." She said so lowly, I'm almost positive I didn't hear it right.
"Alright, well I hope daddy clears everything for you." I laughed.
"Whatever," she hissed. "Goodnight," she rolled her eyes and turned.
"Not so fast-" I grabbed her arm a little too forcefully, and she bumped right into my chest and as I put my around her waist so that she wouldn't fall too far back, our noses touched.
"Let go of me!" She struggled as I held her closely and didn't relent, it was funny watching this weak, small, and fragile being squirm in my arms.
"What do you want." She said in a breathy voice, her heart beating as fast as mine; I could feel it after holding her so close and not letting her back away.
"Aren't we were celebrating that guys promotion tonight? Like at a club?" I finally broke the closeness by leaning into her ear and whispering, "sorry, you won't be getting rid of me that quickly."
"Lara?" I heard a girl call her name from behind us.
Immediately I let go of Lara and we both jumped like 40 feet away from each other.
