Chapter 2- The Last Face of Avansithika
Bhavahbuti had found himself in a strange room he didn't remember being in, his brown eyes opened and immediately closed again when it was greeted by the harsh light of the sun, coming from a set of windows. "Where am I?" Bhavabhuti groaned feeling slow and resting his eyes again. He remembered having sex with Sonu, in an old abandoned store, and that was it. Opening his eyes again, the blurred image of an Indian woman with a round face could be seen, he swore he saw long and pointed ears coming from the lush hair, as his vision cleared, he realised Vithushaki was the one leaning over him, resting a warm blue cloth against his forehead.
"Look who is finally waking up," Vithushaki's deep voice spoke, her eyes scanned over him. Bhavabhuti slowly propped himself up on elbows, squinting at the unfamiliar bedroom. "Where's Sonu?'
"In a old store, as a pile of steel and bolts," the elf tilted her head. Bhavabhuti looked back at her, using his long fingers to rub his eyes attempting to comprehend what she said.
"Come again?"
Vithushaki glanced at him again. "The woman you had sex with," Vithushaki spoke slowly. "Was an cyborg." Vithushaki finished, taking the cloth off his forehead and folding it between her fingers. "You were really out of it."
Bhavabhuti felt his senses coming back, his brain fully waking up. "Sorry.. What did you say Sonu was?" he leaned his head slightly forward, a quick glance down he noticed his shirt was still unbuttoned, his jacket was thrown in the corner of the room.
"Cyborg, she was about two seconds from killing you," Vithushaki spoke in a calm voice as if it was nothing, leaning towards a small black and gold night dresser by the bed, picking up a silver plate with sticky brown rice, each cut perfectly into squares. She placed one into her mouth.
"No.. She was organic, a human," Bhavabhuti protested, he inhaled as the aroma of the food hit him, a slight spice. "Mhm, that looks nice.. Reminds me of my Auntie Kunti," Bhavabhuti salivated staring at the food. "She's kind of a gossipy bitch, but she made the best rice.. Just the right texture and set of flavours." The food almost made him forget what Vithushaki had mentioned. The Detective glanced around, missing Vithushaki's hesitation, the man noticed the old wooden panel walls, and dirty red carpet, even the bed he laid on had seen better days.
"I am taking this wasn't a place I should have dragged you into," Vithushaki stared with concern, her brown eyes glancing up and down at him. Then he heard the sound of an Indian woman somewhere in the house.
"Gopal! Jaswant! Stop disturbing the dog and come eat already!" the shrill tone of his aunt yelled out, followed by a small baby cry.
"My Aunt Kunti? How?" Bhavabhuti questioned in confusion, as she shrugged.
"The store was a block away, and this woman said she was your aunt, so she helped.. She was out on an errand when she saw me trying to drag your barely conscious body out," Vithushaki responded. "For someone who just complimented her food, you sure are comfortable calling her a bitch."
"She's an amazing cook, but is huge with gossipping and can be blunt.. It's really hard to explain, I was hoping not to let my family know I was trying to fuck someone," Bhavabhuti sighed forcing himself to his feet. "I am sorry.. Did you really say the woman I was having sex with is-"
"A Cyborg.. Thought they were long gone, so seems weird to see them here," Vithushaki finished his sentence, wiping her hand off a small paper towel and sat up. "Might as well fight the music, your auntie did help save you afterall."
"How did you even know?" Bhavabhuti questioned, waning to ask so many questions, but unsure if he was even in the right headspace for it.
"Come, you need to eat, then we discuss about the cyborg," Vithushaki moved towards the door. "Open?" Vithushaki frowned when nothing happened, clicking her fingers expecting the door to open on it's own.
