Shuichi leaned over the marble counter. The cafe's sweet aroma gave the air a gentle, homey feel. He sighed- boredom taking over him like the tide coming in. So far, only a short handful of customers came in- and surprisingly, Saihara hated it.
Gripped in his left hand, Shuichi held a book. It wasn't just any book though, it happened to be his all-time favourite romance novel. The book was truly captivating, I̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶c̶a̶l̶l̶e̶d̶ ̶S̶a̶i̶O̶u̶m̶a̶/̶O̶u̶m̶a̶S̶a̶i̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶s̶h̶o̶t̶s̶ ̶/̶j̶ grabbing his attention at every sentence. Whilst, his other hand merely rested on his cold cheek.
The book used his emotions like a steering wheel, happy, then on the verge of tears. He loved every moment of it- and more so, he loved the love interest. Some may call him a fanboy, but Shuichi believed he was merely very interested in him. The boy's name was Kokichi Ouma, a 23 year old man with a backstory of complete mystery. A man who covered his pain and heartache with a sheet of lies. And even when he used those lies to save everyone, he still ended up completely misunderstood. He had a head of gorgeous grape-purple hair, matching his glowing eyes- it was like the author had created the perfect boy.
A soft ringing drove his attention however, as the Cafe's door swung open again. Shuichi's heart seemed to skip a beat.
A strange man walked in. He was around 5'3, (// Note: he grew taller... because he's old woo-//)) and noticeably skinnier than the average person. his hair bounced as he walked, it's purple shine radiating off of him. his eyes seemed to brighten the closer he got to Shuichi. The stranger ruffled his white coat, and chuckled a little.
''Nice book ya got there, emo boy.'' The small man laughed into his tiny, pale hands. Shuichi dropped the book, losing his page- his mouth opened almost as wide as his eyes did.
''I-I a-are y-y-y-ou?'' Shuichi was at an utter loss for words.
''Yepamundo! Thats me, ya boy.'' The man continued to laugh.
Tears gathered in the corners of Saihara's eyes. ''Holy sh- really? what?''
Ouma reached out his hand, a smile of pure amusement spread across his face.
''I'd introduce myself, but it seems like you already know me, hm?'' He grinned.
Shuichi squealed a little, but covered his mouth afterwards. He shook Kokichi's hand, pinching himself afterwards, for just-in-case reasons.
Ouma looked down at his watch. ''Well shit, I gotta dash pretty boy. Here-'' The gremlin passed Shuichi a note, containing his number before walking towards the door. Shuichi merely stood in shock.
Kokichi turns around last second, he stood right infront of the door, looking deep into Shuichi's eyes.
''Whats your name then?'' Shuichi gleamed.
''Sh-Shuichi- Shuichi Saihara-'' He muttered
Ouma chuckled again, a blush spread lightly on his cheeks. He gave Shuichi one last smile, before heading out the tall, wooden door.
''Alrighty Saihara, guess I'll be seeing you around.'' He giggled, whispering to himself- earning a few looks.
The interaction was so short, but Shuichi Saihara had no idea how much that one singular moment would change his life.
