*** flashback ***
It was March 3rd 1619 when Violet's and her kids' lives changed forever. Violet recognized the dangers that her career, as a politician, could do to her children. They were already once saved from being assassinated. She saw the brutality in people and the constant jeopardy she would be in as long as she remained under the eyes of the media and strongly showed her support for a particular party.
After all, she voted for George Yeardley to become governor of Virginia, and she helped him decide to build a college campus. This was a lot of work and raucous noise coming from a southern woman who, gathered haters ambitious like her but with no real aptitude. As she was taking her kids to the park one Sunday morning, few gang members startled them from the sidewalk then viciously bit them on the neck.
Left astray on the side, Violet remembered that they all needed to feed on human blood in order to complete their transition to vampires. She also remembered searching for these gang members and realizing that the bloodshed they caused in 1914 fueled World War 1.
So, for shelter, the family went to the enchanted forest nearby where they became acquainted with the witches.
*** end of flashback ***
Time has finally come for dawn to take place. After a long night, a yellow light rose from the eastside, married the sky and shone on the life of the royal Bones family. The Bones are a family of wealthy vampires, forced to live in the forest's shadows because of Violet's terrible mistake. An unforgivable mistake, one bigger and more atrocious than working in the governor's office in Virginia.
Ever since her children Victoria, Clarice and Hades were little, she made them believe that their father's sudden death was passable because he was too cruel to her. For a few minutes, she remembered when Delia paid her largely to take the blame for murdering Adam.
As the years passed, when each of them would ask for details about the night he disappeared, she would change the story. Until she sat them down to be vulnerable, she raised her children in denial and callous coldness, quietly holding onto guilt.
When she bawled for their names, as they showed up in front of her, she recalled Delia's menacing words to her and started to lie: "now that you are all grown, I must tell you your father is dead because of me. I killed him to protect myself from his violence. I locked his body in a coffin and shipped it away, so that no one would ever investigate his death".
Later, she pondered Adam's fate and what led to his demise: "he was always torn between being precise and doing what was right for his community. He had many hurdles on his path. Money for him was a source of pleasure to fill the void he had. Sadly, he learned a hard lesson he never was ready to learn. Never trust a witch with finances ... happiness cannot be bought with money".
Then, after she remarried, Hades and his sisters moved out of the house to another area of the forest. Delia was kind enough to make them feel comfortable, as she sold them a well-crafted mansion in the depth of the woods to avoid sunlight and keep them in the dark side away from the truth.
In 2019, Victoria stumbled upon an apology letter Violet wrote, asking for them to return, regretting what happened to Adam. But they knew damn well that they were raised by a hypocrite.
Recalling the events that led to their departure, Clarice have prepared a unique tactic to feed. She usually hunts preys by dazzling them with her beauty, then brings food to Hades and Victoria. In fact, her skin as white as snow, and her auburn hair as long as a chocolate river make her a dangerous predator. She kept hiking in the woods in hopes of forgetting her struggles. Hunger banned her from easily building a monarchy.
