DAWN

Graduation was just around the corner. The pressure of Vince's family and my family watching both of us walk to that stage and receive a piece of paper that indicated the end of our childhood. A small totem to the life I was leaving behind.

It had been 2 weeks since that dangerous night and all I could think about the heat. Not only the heat of the outside which was reaching over 90, but also the heat that grew between my legs everytime I relived it. This was a curse on my soul, not having truly crossed a line, but desperately wanting to.

I didn't receive a single text or phone call from Vinny or Jen and as I manned the registers at the Cafe I worked at, I became frustrated by the idea that I was being ignored.

Being so heavy in thought I hadn't realized a bouncing bubbly person snapped her fingers in front of my eyes and popped the gun in her mouth.

"Earth to Dawn, what the fuck are you thinking about you didn't notice me even walk up."

I examined this beauty of a woman that stood in front of me. She was gifted with breasts the size of grapefruits and a body that would put Aphrodite to shame. She wore a tight tank top that showed off her cleavage and a Jean jacket lazily hanging around her along with shorts that hugged her hips and fishnet stockings that screamed "Fuck me".

Very breedable.

"Daphine... Why are you dressed like a curb hussy?" I said putting in her usual order.

The offended laugh she released was accentuated by her breasts bouncing.

God, how does a high school graduate have such a supple body?

"I'll have you know, Miss Depresso Espresso, I am going to a party later this evening and I am currently using my assets to aquire necessary items." She adjusted her bra and stuck her tongue out at me.

"If you get pregnant," I put my hand to my chest, "I promise I will personally laugh at you and call you a dumb bitch."

Daphine slapped my arm after I handed her the overly sweet latte.

"Anyway, baby cakes, I'm not just here for the prefect cup of coffee. I'm making you my plus one since Rand bailed on me."

I glared at her knowing fully well she was going to leave me at the party. Daphine always used me as her scape goat when she was alone to a party. I never was invited because I was really wanted.

"C'mon baby, do this for me and I'll give you my word I'll buy you the latest game your obsessed with."

"Price point?"

She scoffed and tossed her curly hair over her shoulder. "Do I look like I need to worry about money?"

I laughed.

"Fine. Pick me up and I'll be your date."

Daphine gave me a high five and jumped out the door leaving many customers confused. Karma reached her very fast as once she landed on her feet the coffee slipped from her hand.

°°°

The house we arrived at for the party was already in full swing early in the evening. Daphine's eyes lit up as she pulled onto the side street behind all the other cars.

"Bitch are you ready for the best senior party?!"

I laughed and opened the car door. This would be the last party of senior year. I had hoped the party would make me forget about my worries if just for a moment.

I was not in for such luck.

We walked towards the doors and showed our booze before entering the hot house that smelled of sweat and vodka. The music pulsed through me and the bodies that brushed against me made me feel dizzy. Someone had brought strobe lights and projectors. That intensified the anxiety I began to feel.

I had already been drinking in the car and the heat began to hit me as I pushed through the bodies and the arms that grabbed me.

I made my way to the backyard where the pool had a few drinks floating and staring at the stars and some girls flirting with the boys lining the pool. I took a cup of dark liquid off the table and drowned my thoughts.

I don't know how long it was before I felt the music in me and joined the bodies inside. I danced until a random person pulled me into an embrace and kissed me. I wanted to forget about Vince, I wanted to forget this guilt I'd been dealing with for the last few weeks.

"What the fuck are you doing?"

I broke the kiss to see Vinny's face angrily watching me. His fists were clenched and the strong jaw he possessed had tighten like a python around it's poor victim.

"Hey Vince!" The random guy shouted pushing me to the floor. "I was hoping to get tail here, you think she'll work?"

The world shook as I struggled to regain balance and find the face I was desperately wanting, but Vince had already disappeared into the crowd of people. I began to sober up as I searched for him.

Walking the crowded hallways I found him. Rage boiled inside me as I saw a girl feel him up as they were lip locked. In that moment I didn't care if Vince was enjoying himself.

I grabbed the girl by her hair and pulled her away from him.

"Don't fucking touch what's mine." I growled staring into her mortified eyes. Once I let go of her she scurried away like a small dog runs away from a ferial cat.

I grabbed Vince by the collar of the dumb hawaiian shirt he was wearing. Pulling him up the stairs into an unoccupied room, I locked the door behind us. I paused at the door waiting for him to say something.
