RILEY SIGHED AS SHE watched people hop onto the horse carriage sleighs, saddened that she didn't have anyone she that would join her, considering Maddy had never showed up. Riley hoped everything was fine with her but she couldn't wrap her head around why Maddy hadn't made an appearance when she said she would
"Are you just gonna watch people hop onto those sleighs all night, you'll freeze to death" Jess remarks standing beside her
"i was hoping my depressive sighs would warm me up" Riley counters back, not taking her eyes off the horses and the sleighs "why aren't you inside? i didn't think riding in horse sleighs was your thing"
"It's not, i was just bored inside" Jess notes carelessly
"were you hoping to hop on with Rory or something?" Riley then blurts out without thinking
Jess' gaze lingers on her as he answers "No, actually i hadn't thought of that"
"Bummer, cause you just missed her" Riley discloses trying to warm herself up by rubbing her hands on her arms
"I'll go on with you, if you want" Jess then says faintly after a few silent seconds, now avoiding eye contact with her switching with Riley now looking at him
Before Riley could come up with a reply she noticed that Sam was heading this way so she quickly grabbed Jess' arm and pulls him over to a sleigh
"I'm guessing thats a yes" Jess interjects assertively, glancing behind him to see what Riley kept looking at
"Remember that favour you owed me?" Riley then asks hurriedly
"You mean, the favour that you owed me, cause yes that i remember considering it was only this morning" Jess mentions to her
"Well technically you ratted me out to Luke before so it cancels out and now you owe me" Riley says tugging on Jess' jacket
"Huh, funny how that works out" Jess says as Riley hoped onto the sleigh, still pulling on Jess' jacket so he had no choice but to join her and sit next to her on the sleigh "you know, you don't have to force me to join you, i did suggest it"
Riley looked back just once before returning her attention back on Jess and slumping down in her seat "oh thank god, that was close"
"I don't get it" Jess then says looking out in the distance
