Chapter V Planet Vee's near earth

At lunch one of Jonathan's friends came to see him.

“Jonathan!”

“What are you doing here?!”

“Were going to a move tonight and wanted to see if you could come.”

“I can’t. I’ve got work.”

“You work that late?”

“It’s not my regular hours. I’m working over-time to make more money.”

“Well you’re not working Saturday night, were going bowling then!”

“I think I can come!”

“Great! See you there!” he said as he walked out the door

“Bye!”

Saturday came and Jonathan left work to join his friends. He had a good time.

As he was going home He turned on the radio. “NASA says planet Vee will come Monday. As for which side of the earth it will pass by, they don’t know.” He turned off the radio and hurried home.”

On Monday he got up at six and ate breakfast. The rest of the day he spent writing and eating nervously. He appeared calm on the out side, but was ready for action. At 7:00 PM the earthquake hadn’t come. Jonathan laded down on top of the covers on his bed, still dressed, and turned on his TV.

“Planet Vee has just passed earth on the Ugandan side.”

Jonathan gave a sigh of relief.

“The quake, reaching 10 on the Richter wasn’t as bad as last time.”

He turned off the TV and dosed off. He woke up hours later from a green light coming from the dark night sky out side his balcony door. He got out of bed and looked at the clock, it said 4:00 AM. He went over to the sliding door. In the sky he saw a green glowing shape coming closer. It stopped and another green glowing shape started coming from it. Then he heard a laser blast. He looked and saw his Astro Cannon on the hill next to his apartment building firing at the green things.

“It works!” He said.

The second green thing came closer. It was flat on the top and bottom, had a rounded front and back, and sides were shaped like a rectangle with rounded ends. It was a space ship. The texture looked like a clear green glowing plastic that coated gray metal. It stopped and hovered about 20 feet above Jonathan’s balcony. On the side of it, now visible was a round door. The line separating the two half’s was going horizontal, and had a half circle in the middle. It turned counter clockwise 90 degrees and opened.  Standing in the light was a figure. The figure had green skin, a head with a slightly pointy chin, long black braided hair, arms and legs, feet and hands. He was wearing a black leather tee shirt, black leather pants, black leather shoes, a black leather beanie, and black scaly leather arm pads with a green glowing spike in the center just below the elbows. He also had a belt with a gun.

The figure jumped for Jonathan's deck but bounced off of Jonathan's House Deflector Shield. Then a female computer voice said, “House Deflector Shield Power, low.”

Another of the things from the ship jumped and was deflected by the House Deflector Shield.

“House Deflector Shield Power, off.”

 Another thing jumped from the ship and landed on the deck. Jonathan aimed his alien gun at the thing and pulled the trigger. A half red/half green laser came out of the gun.  The thing said “ou!” as he went flying over the rail of the deck Jonathan gave a sigh of relief. Two more things landed on the deck. Jonathan shot one of them as the other ran past him. He turned around and couldn't see the thing. Then he noticed a lamp up against the wall next to the kitchen doorway, it wasn't there before. He shot the lamp; it turned into a thing and fell to the ground.

Jonathan heard foot steps coming up the stairs out side his apartment. He hid behind the front door as a thing shot the lock and burst inside. He jumped out from behind the door and started choking the thing.

“Who are you?” He said.

The thing said choking, “We are the Orgs. We come from the planet you call Vee.”

“Why are you here?”

“Years ago you sent an attack ship to our planet. We've come to destroy a possible threat.” 

“That's a big misunderstanding! That ship was a research probe. We where exploring your planet!”

“Stop choking me.”

“I'll let you go if you tell your leader that it was a misunderstanding.”

“I'll do it but, you smashed my communicator. I'll have to find the nearest soldier or commander."

Jonathan let the Org go and it ran down the stairs. Once out side the building it turned right and ran for about ¼ a mile down the brightly lit streets then stopped next to another Org. He wasn't panting at all as he said, “Commander!”

“Yes.”

The soldier Org turned around and started walking with the commander. “A human told me that the attack ship they send years ago was a research probe.”

“And you believed him?”

“He jumped out from behind a door with a big gun took mine and started choking me! I had to!”

“I don't believe him and nether do you. Come; take me to him so we can kill him."

Just then they heard foot steps behind them and a man said, “Freeze! I'm da unknown number of greats grand son of Napoleon Bonaparte. I got a gun pointed at your head. Prepare to die.” He then pulled the trigger killing the Org commander.
