Ideally, Sam would've spent the two weeks they had left pampering and smooching his husband but Yang Yu Teng did not exactly have the time. While he was gone working, that too reluctantly, Yang Yu Teng had to handle his passport and student visa as well as pack his bag and study materials. Sam would like to pack themselves off on a vacation if it was up to him but the farthest Yang Yu Teng was willing to go was their parents' house and Sam just couldn't seem to say no to the man. The disregard he evidently took as a deep-felt regret definitely was some sort of a punishment, from the universe if not from Yang Yu Teng himself.
Gently sighing, for he couldn't be mad nor be happy at how they're both already standing in the airport, not quite ready to bid farewell or should he say he wasn't ready while Yang Yu Teng looked like he could fly off out of excitement.
He waited for the man to finish talking to his dad on the phone. He remembered pinning hope on the old man to oppose to Yang Yu Teng's decision but on the contrary, the man was encouraging and regrettably supportive instead.
The passport he was helping the man hold he wished would just dematerialize but he wasn't in some thrashy fairytale AU.
When Yang Yu Teng put down the phone and flashed him his enthusiastic grin, Sam for a second thought that it was one of his many dreams, aside for the fact that it was world different.
"I wanted to take you to a honeymoon," he sighed, wishing that they were there to leave together instead. "I'm sorry I was too busy before."
Yang Yu Teng shook his head, and leapt in for a hug. They did this a lot in the past week; hugging and not letting go. "I don't need any honeymoon, I just need you."
Sam blamed the strong airconditioning in the airport as his face became numb, while the scent of Yang Yu Teng's freshly shampooed hair wouldn't help drive his sadness away. "Then... why are you going away.."
Yang Yu Teng responded only by holding him closer.
At least he tried, like he did many times before the boarding call for Yang Yu Teng's flight forced them to break their hug.
"Can't I send you there personally?"
Yang Yu Teng smiled and shook his head again, "No need, I'll have my friend there."
This friend again, Sam was tired of hearing the mention of this man who Yang Yu Teng was seemingly excited to meet and study with. It didn't even surprise him anymore to hear so many no need from the man; no need to send him there, no need to help him pack, no need for apartment there, no need everything. Sometimes Sam wonder if Yang Yu Teng no longer find the need for him, anymore.
With heavy steps, Sam entered his house. He did not bother to turn on the lights, relying solely on the lights from his porch for the sky had long turned dark after he involuntarily spent the evening at his parent's who seemed to correctly read his turmoil and decided he needed the company after Yang Yu Teng left.
It was nice, except for the fact that he had to fake his smile all the time he was there, fun. Like always, he could see the semblance of his husband in his old man by the way their honest smile would stretch throughout their whole face and the hics in their soft and pleasant laughs.
Sam missed it already. He missed Yang Yu Teng so much that he could no longer feel his limbs working as he slumped his butt on the cold floor, his back against the back of the sofa.
"Meow.."
In the dark, the white snowy ball of fur trotted and dropped on all fours beside him, headbutting his side for attention. Sam automatically stroked the soft fur; the vague memory of just him and Little Prince, before he knew exist a man named Yang Yu Teng came rushing like a storm into his tired brain.
