I grabbed his wrist, steering him in the opposite direction.

“I don’t ditch.” A smile danced across his face.

“This is why were doing it.” He took me by the wrist once again. “Loosen up a bit.”

“Ok Nate.” I said taking the lead

“It’s Jason!” He yelled from behind.

I climbed in his Volkswagen  Passat. I crossed my arms over my chest.

“Your moody.” He observed. He cranked up the music. I turned the knob down, and flopped back into my seat. He swatted my hand .

“Turn it down.” I ordered.

“I like a girl who is bossy?” I was stunned. Did he like me? I bet he was just joking.

“Sure.” I crossed my feet setting back the seat, so I could lay down. “Tell me when we reach.” I sleepily ordered.

I woke with eyes closed. Jason he was between the door, his foot on the rug and the other on the road.

I snook a peek at who he was yelling at. A girl with brown hair, fair skin tone, she was slim with curves at the hip.

“It’s over. Don’t call my phone.” He climbed in the car fully. He drove off down the street, further from the house. “I know your awake.” He clenched his jaw and gripped the wheel until his knuckles were white.

“Now I know your single.” I weakly smiled. I sat up, adjusting the seat. He fought a smile but grinned.

“That was my girlfriend.” He explained.

“What happened?”

“I was going to surprise her but then I found her in bed with this bitch.” He gripped the wheel tightly, I swear his knuckles might burst.

“She is gay?”

“No” he chuckled. “It was a guy.” I held my hand over my heart. He glanced over and I smiled at him.

“So are we going back to school?”

“School is over. It’s 5” I grabbed my phone.

10 text messages and 6 missed calls. From June and my Dad. I smacked my forehead with the heel of my hand. I quickly sent him a message to know that I was ok, same for June.

“I’m dead. Could you drop me off?”

“You sure you want to give me your address?” He grinned. I punched his arm.

“Seriously. 5051 Wallnut Street.” I informed. He merged on the highway. “Be quick.” I shifted in my seat. Before I drifted to the sleep of Jason’s huffs and puffs.

“April” Jason whispered. He nudged my side. I felt heavy, like an elephant was resting on my body.

“Carry me.” I barely whispered. I heard his footsteps outside as he walked around.

His arms were muscular as he wrapped it around me. I threw my arms around his neck and snuggled in his chest. He smelled of aftershave and cologne.

He set me on my feet, but my arms were still wrapped around him and my head was still snuggled in his chest.

“April. It’s late and you need sleep.”

“Carry me to my room.”

“I’m not sure your Dad will like that.” I giggled in his chest.

“He’s not home.” His arms wrapped around me once again.

“Thanks.” I said, once I felt the covers wrap around me.

“No problem. Let’s probably never do this again.” I felt his weight at the end of the bed.

“No.” I opened my eyes to look at him. “It was nice.”

“I gotta get going.” He rested off the bed and walked towards me.

“Like my room?”

“Love it.” His breath was minty. He kissed my forehead. I was stunned at first but then desire puled me in. I grabbed the back of his neck, and crashed his lips to mine. It felt like sparks.

I parted my mouth as his tongue traced the curve of my lips. Our tongues were in harmony.

He broke the kiss. The fire burned out, and it was overtaken by embarrassment and fear.

“Bye, April.” He exited with his hands in his front pockets. Awkward.

He will never talk to me ever again.
