Special - Rose Houghton 2

"Lady look we gotta..." Frank turned round the pillar to face Lily but his head got forced backwards as he got a killer punch to the face by your one and only amazing mother.

"Oh god sorry Frank!"

"HA HA!" You stood behind your mum pointing at Frank laughing at what had happened. 

"It's alright strong form!" He reassured Lily then pointed to you. "Not funny!"

"Oh it was!" you smirk.

"Was not!"

"It kinda was..." Lily's straight face turned into a slight smile.

"Right we I'm gonna go! You know still want to survive?! So you two stay here, get kidnapped, continue laughing at me I don't really care I'm not responsible for you!" He turned away dodging men attempting to throw punches at him on the way.

"Wait wait wait Frank owes me me money we didn't mean it!" Lily giggled earning a playful nudge for you. "C'mon!" She beckoned you as she walked a bit ahead. You did a little run to catch up with her linking arms with her. She brushed the hair out of your face as you continued walking pressing a soft kiss to the side of your head. "I'm so proud of you, you know that?"

"Thanks Mumma!" You smiled.

"Love you kid!' She slung an arm round your shoulder holding you closer as you walked towards the boat.

"FRANK!" A voice came from behind the three of you.

"Niiilllloooooo! Very good to see you.... again!"

"I want the boat!"

"RUN!"

"FRANK!!" Frank jumped into the water soon followed by you although you were very hesitant because you knew your mum was afraid and wanted to stay with her but Frank practically forced you in and your mother gave you a reassuring look to tell you everything was alright.

"Where is she going?!" Frank sighed getting on the boat followed by you watching Lily run up the stairs to the mini tower where the washing was being carried. 

Lily wrapped a spare blanket round the wire zipping down the rope, suddenly a blanket got in her way blocking her vision causing her to collide with a basket of washing and falling down head first with her legs sticking up in the air in a pile of dirty washing. She hurriedly stepped on the boat after recovering herself. 

"Tucking in a spot of sightseeing? How nice of you to join us. Why didn't you jump in the water?" Frank sighed.

"I don't want talk about it!"

"She can't swim!" MacGregor revealed causing your mother to sigh and roll her eyes and a glare from you. 

"You booked a river cruise and you can't swim?!"

"I have no intention of swimming."

"I can't believe you booked this and you don't know or have no idea how to swim!"

"Oh just stop this, she can't swim ok?! Just leave it at that!" You sighed walking to the end of the boat.

"What's up with her? Can see she get's her feistiness from you."

"Just leave it ok Frank?!' Lily sighed as well going down below deck.

"What's up with the pants twins?" Frank smiled.

"Rose can get very defensive of Lily, I mean it's just been them two all her life, obviously me as well but of course Lily is Rose's mother, she means the world to Y/n. Lily's partner wasn't the nicest of people he left them before for someone else, he didn't want anything to do with either of them after Rose, especially Rose. So  that's why Lily is so defensive of Rose but why especially Rose is so protective of Lily." MacGregor sighed.

"Oh well right. I think I should apologise." He walked down below deck to Lily. "Lily I want to-"

"Save it Frank I'm not the one you should be apologising to!"

"I don't really want to get brutally beaten up though." He chuckled earning a slight smile from Lily.

"Yeah that's my daughter!' she sniffled. "She was my miracle baby I always wanted a child, especially a daughter, and I couldn't conceive. Rose's father started to resent me and distance himself from me. And then a few months later after god knows how many tries I became pregnant with Rose. When I told her father I was expecting he pushed me away thinking I was lying just to get him to stay, that night he left me from another woman, younger, prettier, richer, doesn't't answer back and doesn't get her head filled with adventure dreams." Lily looked at Frank with a slight smirk. " I was alone, pregnant and then Rose came along and my life suddenly became so much brighter. She deserves the world and that's what I'm trying to give her with all these adventures, I feel like I'm letting her down if I'm not doing something interesting or making her proud."

"She doesn't need all that. I know I've known you very a very short amount of time but I can see how much she means to you." He placed a hand on your shoulder. "I'm going to go talk to Rose." He smiled sweetly as Lily nodded her headed wiping the excess tears from her cheeks.
