"Wait, an answer for what?" I asked. Elle rolled her eyes at me, but the smile didn't once faulter from her face.
"To Everest's condition of course! We might have an answer, or at the very least, a lead." Elle said, bouncing up and down in her seat. I glanced over at Allan and he nodded. My heart thumped erratically.
"That's great! So what is it?" I asked. Missy smiled.
"Well, from our conversation earlier, I was wondering if it was possible that maybe Everest was sent here by time travel. It doesn't seem likely since the Clan doesn't have such magic, but a Coven would. And with Everest having the powers of a werewolf, vampire and Slayer, it's very possible that magic was invovled to create him." Missy said. I nodded, gesturing for her to continue.
"Then Elle said she had a book that was given to her with information on spells, rituals and other means such as that. Problem is, we don't have the magic or materials to perform such rituals and spells. But the Coven in Romania does." Missy said, a proud smile growing on her face.
"Wait, so is this just an option, or a certainty?" I asked. Britt frowned.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I'm asking, what do we do about it? Can the Coven help or not? And if they can, what's the game plan? Do we go to Romania? Or do they come to us?" I asked with a shrug. Elle frowned, clearly having not thought of that.
"Well, Allan has connections with Aries. He's the Coven leader. We can discuss this with him, but no one outside of the Clan and Coven can know about this." Elle said.
"What about Reggie? What do we do about him?" I asked, my thoughts flitting to the pudgy and slightly large CIA agent currently holed up in our lair.
Clearly no body had thought about that little bit of information, as everyone went silent, unsure of what should be done. I sighed and began to rub my temples in frustration. Not at them of course, but the untimely appearance of the government. They'd never before been invovled in Vampiric affairs.
That's what we were here for.
"Well, if we go to Romania, some of us will have to stay here. We can play it off as a scheduled week long patrol within the surrounding states. But a few will have to stay behind in order to keep Reggie from getting suspicious." Allan said. We all nodded, in agreement.
"Sounds like a plan. But what if it takes longer than a week? What then?" Britt asked. Allan groaned.
I knew that feeling.
"We'll have to say we were caught off gaurd by a group of Vampires. It's the best we can do. I honestly don't think Reggie will question it, given his aversion to stakes." I said. Allan chuckled and Missy and Britt nodded.
"Okay, then when should we leave. I think sooner the better, but I also can't help but wonder if when the vampires and other rougue groups find out Everest is back as a human, they'll go after him again." Elle said. I nodded, understanding her logic.
Given that the whole Vampire-Slayer war was because of that little booger, it didn't surprise me that it could be a possibility.
"Well then I'll have to go. It's my duty to watch over the little guy." I said. Everest butted his nose against the back of my knee and I scowled down at him. I'd almost forgotten he was in the room.
"Okay, then that leads us to who stays and who goes." Allan said. I crossed my arms.
"Stevie has to go, and it would be a good thing if we brought Ryan, since he's the best fighter." Allan said. I nodded.
