The next day, I sat at the island in the kitchen with the boy turned wolf, Everest. He tapped his nose against my shin and I looked down.
He cocked his ears to the side, giving me a questioning look. I just shrugged and continued to plot my plan. All I knew, was that Ryan had to be involved otherwise it wouldn't go as planned.
Ryan wandered through the door, walking towards the fridge and pulling out a diet Pepsi. I snorted. He turned around and frowned at me.
"What was that for?" He asked. I rolled my eyes and waved it off.
"Nothing." I said nonchalantly. He scowled.
"Seriously, Steve. What's up?" He asked. I shook my head.
"The ceiling?" I asked. He scowled even more.
"You know that's not what I meant." He placed the Pepsi on the counter and turned to me with an expectant look.
"Are you going to share about your little escapades, or are you going to just sit there?" He asked. My jaw dropped.
"How did you-" I began.
"Ah! You underestimate my snooping skills. Now what's going on?" He asked, interupting me rudely. I crossed my arms and pouted.
"Elle had a pity party last night and I happened to be invited. So today, I'm going to show her how important she is to this Clan." I said with a smug smile. Ryan nodded and cracked the top of his carbonated drink.
"Clever, you're quite the devious little sneak, aren't you?" He asked. I rolled my eyes and smiled.
"Oh, you know." I joked. Ryan grinned.
"So when do we start?" He asked. I gave him a curious look.
"You're not even going to ask?" I questioned. Ryan shrugged.
"If you wanted to tell me, you would have already." He said while liftng his soda to his lips.
"How did you know I was going to ask-" Ryan raised his hand to cut me off.
"I'm your partner in crime, Steve. I'll always be here to help you." He said with a chuckle. My heart fluttered at the comment and my cheeks flamed red.
"T-Thanks, Ry. You're the best." I said with a small smile. He shrugged and gave me a cocky smile.
"I know, there's no need to rub it in." He sent me a wink and finished the rest of his Pepsi, as he walked out of the kitchen he dropped it in the trash next to the doorway.
"When you're ready, just come get me. I'll be in the gym." He said over his shoulder. I nodded and stood from the stool by the island.
As I walked from the kitchen, Everest followed me from behind. Every once in a while his nose would bump the back of my legs and I chuckled.
Everest used to be the cutest little boy, before he went all wolfified on us. He had curly red hair and freckles that dotted across his nose and cheeks. When Gaven and I had found him in the woods on patrol one night, we thought he was a vampire because he had violet eyes, much like the other demons. But he actually was the balance between three races.
With the mark of the Slayer, a pentagram branded on his left wrist and the eyes of a vampire, we'd originally thought he was a hybrid. Our surprise doubled when we found out he was also part werewolf.
About a couple days later, an army of forty plus vampires attacked the Clan house and we were sent to war over that little boy. The vampires had wanted to kill him, wiping out the Slayers and the whole werewolf population, not to mention the vampires.
