Chapter 7: The prank

'Poor Bella, she has no idea that I saw this coming,' I thought.

Amy walked into the room carrying a large glass of coke. "Carlisle, you need to get the pipes checked, no water came out of the taps," she said informing him.

Bella was still looking at me frantically but I ignored her. "Let's tuck in," I told everyone eagerly.

"Wait," Amy said quickly "We have to say grace."

"What's grace?" Nessie asked confused.

"You never brought this child up as a holy person," Amy said shocked.

"No, we're not very religious people," Carlisle told her.

We 'kids' all smirked at that knowing that everyone in the room apart from Amy and Jake were all at least part vampire. Amy looked confused about our smirking but decided to ignore it.

"Nessie, sweetie, grace is another word for prayer," Bella explained.

"Even if we aren't religious people we'll wait until you're finished your grace before we start eating," Carlisle said kindly.

"Thank you," Amy said gratefully.

I zoned out until she finished her prayers. When she was done I checked my watch. 5 minutes had passed I mean seriously, how religious can you get?

"Can we start eating now?" Emmett whined.

"Yes, thank you for waiting," Amy said.

We started to eat but once Amy had taken a bite she started to scream and scrape her tongue, "aaaargh." She started to gulp down her drink but suddenly stopped and started screaming again even louder and longer than before, "aaaaaaaaaaargh."

She ran out of the room sprinting to the bathroom still screaming. We - Bella and I - shared a quick look and started rolling on the floor laughing. Soon it became too much for Jasper and he joined us because our amusement had leaked into him - his power overwhelmed him - and soon he had passed it onto the others who also joined us.

Eventually - 10 minutes later - we calmed down, well, Bella did and with a bit of help from her shield - she'd been practicing and could now block Jasper' power if she wanted to - she freed Jake who calmed Jasper down which in turn calmed us down.

"Stop leaking your amusement into everyone for now," Jake ordered him.

"Of course master, I hear and obey," Jasper replied in a monotone.

We calmed down straight away but I was immediately pulled into a vision. "Bella, block this from Edward," I whispered after seeing a tiny bit.

Jake's P.O.V:

I freed Jasper from the amusement. I love my power, it makes me feel like I could take over the world, well except for the headaches, but they're getting weaker every time I use it.

Once Alice was free of the laughter she got pulled into a vision. "Bella, block this from Edward," she whispered very quickly after it started. Strange, why would she need that done.

I glanced at Edward. He looked frustrated and annoyed. When Alice came out of the vision he asked her "why did you do that and what did you see?" he growled out between gritted teeth.

"Oh, nothing," she replied airily. "Just some birthday presents for you."

Edward seemed satisfied with this but Nessie, Jasper and I shared a look. 'She's obviously lying,' I thought hiding my thoughts from Edward. If she has to lie about it I'll let him think it's the truth, well, for now anyway. I suddenly remembered something I wanted to ask.
