                                       AJ
The door opened and Shigaraki stepped in. He placed food in front of me. They may have beat me to shit, but at least I'm not starving! I guess that probably counts for something. Right?

He turned to leave and I made a decision. A bad one.

"Hey wait." I croaked.

He stood in the doorway and slowly turned around.

"What?"

"Well don't sound so mean about it!"

He groaned and started the close the door.

"If I join you.....what's in it for me?"

He stopped closing the door and his body froze.

"After all that anger from last night, you're finally willing to join?"

"I- I never said I'm willing.....but....I'll listen."

"No one would ever abandon you again. You'd never have to worry about being left out, feeling unwanted, or being called a demon. You'd be our angel."

I sat there in silence. He did make it sound nice. But I couldn't! I couldn't do that to Hawks. But even then.....he hadn't come to save me. It had been days. Does he even care?

Shigaraki nodded.

"Think about it."

The door closed and I sat in a depressed silence, and then music started blasting.

"OHHHH. IT'S MR STEAL YO GIRL. IT'S MR STEAL YOUR GIRL."

Who the fuck is playing that shit?

I pulled on my boots and looked in the mirror at my hero costume. Today was the day.

Hawks walked into the bathroom behind me, throwing on his jacket.

"Hey kid, you ready?"

"I've been ready."

We walked out the door, and I took in a deep breath of fresh air.

Ever since the kidnapping, I had been mostly staying with Hawks. I couldn't stay in the UA dorms. They made me feel claustrophobic. Not to mention, it just felt dead without AJ.

Hawks picked me up and we flew to where we knew AJ was. Hawks had been doing tireless reconnaissance since she went missing, and finally found her exact location.

We stopped at the front door, and he set out a speaker.

"Hawks, do we really have to do this part?"

"It'll throw them off their rhythm! They won't expect it."

"How are finding humor right now? Your kid is in there!"

He pulled out his phone.

"That's exactly why I'm finding humor right now."

Bottoms Up by Trey Songs and Nicki Minaj started blasting as we stood outside the doors. We were a public nuisance.
