Arriving to the hospital Michael checked Payton in and they went to the room and got ready and then the doctor came and checked on Payton and hooked her up to the monitor to check to see how she was doing. Payton was about 7cm dilated almost ready to give birth. So the doctor left and said "I will be back to check on you in about 30 minutes but if you need anything before then just press the call button and a nurse will be ready to assist you.
As soon as the doctor left Michael got a phone call from Thomas which had him worried. They talked for a bit.
" Yeah I understand that but is she okay now. So is she here now or back at home. Will talk later."
"Um, Babe what happened is everything okay. "Payton saying worried.
"Thomas and Mia are here at the hospital now because Mia broke her leg and now she has to be on bed rest for at least 3 to 6 months. They are not leaving the hospital until tomorrow though."
"Oh wow I wonder how she ended up breaking her leg."
"Well the last thing Thomas said to me was that he was going to exercise. He left through the kitchen door and before he left he saw Mia in the kitchen making some food. A few minutes into him exercising he heard Mia scream and shouting for Thomas to help her. When he got inside he saw Mia on the floor not moving. So he picked her up and placed her on the couch and asked her what was wrong. She said she fell off the counter trying to get a bowl from the cupboard. Then she kept saying that her leg was hurting so that was when Thomas took her to the hospital."
"I did not know wow I hope she gets better. The baby I hope it is okay. She is still early into the pregnancy. What did Thomas say about the baby."
"He really didn't say much. I guess he is just overwhelmed because he has to take extra care with Mia and that he is going to be a father in a few short months."
"Yes I know and that can....
Just as Payton was about to finish her sentence the doctor and nurse walked in to check on Payton and in fact she was 10cm dilated and ready to give birth.
The nurse said "It's time for these twins to come you are 10 cm."
An hour later 2 loud cries from the twins filled the room. First was the baby girl then the baby boy.
"Congratulations you both are officially parents."
All Payton could do was cry at how happy she was.
"So new mother your daughter is all cleaned up and is very healthy and weighing 5 pounds and 11 ounces. "
The nurse rested her on Payton and she fed her.
Then next to come was the boy he weighed 8 pounds and 6 ounces and was healthy. The nurse then rested him on Payton and took the baby girl to get all cleaned up after being fed.
After the girl was cleaned up they rested her inside the rooming - in next to Payton. The nurse then took the baby boy and rested him inside the rooming - in after getting cleaned up.
About 10 minutes later the nurse helped Payton get back on her feet and then gave her some food and left.
At 12am Michael got a call from Alex asking how Payton was doing and if the twins were born yet and if so can the house come and see them.
"Hey Alex everybody is doing great here Payton gave birth to the twins about an hour and 30 minutes ago. She had some food and now her and the twins are sleeping. We all need to get some rest it is getting late but you all can come tomorrow morning . Find out from the front desk what time you can come and when they tell you the time come then. Will talk later."
