Harry Styles

A STRESSED FACE was shown on his face in the dimly lit lighting that the bathroom provided.

That and the fact that he looked completely and utterly worn out over something that was bothering him. Something that had to do with his brother.

Louis reached out to him about an hour ago when he was about to go see how his brother was doing. Over the past few days, it seemed that his brother hated his hovering, so he wanted to create a distance between the two of them. And just as he was going to go check up on him, an arm reached out and dragged him into the closest place. Which seemed to be the bathroom.

At first, he thought something was going to happen. But then he saw the expression on Louis' face and knew that this was going to be going differently than he once thought. He just wasn't sure how differently.

"You can't have him working here anymore." Louis rushed out, his voice carrying a higher pitch towards the end.

Harry felt his eyebrows scrunch up at the statement. "Why not?"

Louis' eyes only appeared to get wider. "You should have heard what he said to me earlier."

Something triggered inside him.

Maybe it was the way Louis thought he could talk about his brother, or the fact that he thought he would fire his twin brother over it. The thought of doing that made him feel unsettled.

"It doesn't matter what he said." Harry spoke harshly, his features showing anger.

Louis shook his head in disbelief. "But he told me he was going to end up in the same place as before if something were to happen to me."

"He didn't say that." He was quick to say.

"What?" Louis said, his eyes widening in shock. "You don't believe me?"

"You must have heard him wrong, or you interpreted what he said to mean something else." He interjected.

Louis continued to shake his head, but it was clear that the conversation was over for the both of them. Harry was the first to leave, heading towards the door with his back towards Louis. But before he opened the door the was already open even wider, he turned his head over his shoulder to make eye contact with Louis once more.

"I can't believe you used something I told you in private about my twin brother as an advantage in this conversation." He softly whispered, pain lacing through.

Louis' face expression quickly changing into sympathy was his only response.

HARRY SPOTTED HIS twin brother alone upstairs after he closed everything down.

Louis left shortly after their conversation. He wasn't sure if he would see him for work tomorrow, because he left without saying anything, but he hoped he would.

After shutting down everything downstairs, he slowly found his way walking upstairs. It was completely silent downstairs and that only followed as he walked through the door. He smelled something sweet, and it made his stomach churn with something beyond hunger.

He suddenly found his voice. "What are you doing?"

Edward jerked up in the surprise at his voice. "I made us some deserts."

Harry walked further into the apartment. "Why?" He found himself asking.

"I thought it would be a nice surprise, and a thank you for everything you've done for me lately."

"I would have done anything for you, Edward. You're my brother."

Edward nodded, something in his eyes glistened as he heard the gesture his brother was putting out there. That the love they had for each other was just as strong as ever. Harry walked until he was in the kitchen and glanced down at the deserts. "Did you find everything to make them?"

"I did. But I couldn't find peanut oil, so I ended up having to substitute it with something else." He said as he grabbed a few plates for the two of them.

His back was turned but it seemed to tense at his brother's response. "Louis is allergic to nuts, so I don't keep anything like that around in here."

Edward didn't respond, and instead chose to nod. The conversation from earlier seemed to cross his mind, and he felt himself asking the next question.

"You didn't say anything to Louis earlier, did you?" Harry asked.

"Say anything?" Edward asked, confused. "Like what?"

"That something was going to happen to him, and you were going to end up back at the institution." Something crossed over his face.

"Of course, I didn't." Edward said. "Do you think I would say something like that?"

"There was never a doubt in my mind." Harry spoke with honesty.

He placed the two plates on the table, as Harry got something to drink for the two of them. They then sat across from each other and enjoyed the silence as they ate what Edward made for the two of them. The silence was comfortable, and for a second, Harry appreciated that tonight he wouldn't be alone in his apartment.

Tonight, he would be with his twin brother.

And that would be enough.

It had to be.
