She was the sun;
so bright was her love
that I forgot I was a shadow.
And loved me she did,in all my cruel monstrosity;
gently and abidingly.
Her light rushing in my veins,
scorched away the pain
which has so long
worn me to the bone.
And so consumed was I by this fire
that I knew not when I
crossed into the light;
only that I did.
And it is beautiful on the other side.
