A relaxed gasp comes out of my mouth as I continue to lay on this on the far end of the park. There are no types of buildings or lights down here. That means that the stars can be seen and the moon seems in reaching distance from where I sit. Both of them are just shining carelessly; the sight is truly magnificent. There has been a lot going on lately and today has been good for me. I did not think about any of my worries today because I was too busy laughing, joking or playing around. It was fun, fun that I have not had in a really long time. I guess what I am trying to say that it is a perfect end to a really good day.
"You know, I've always wanted to have a pet star." Samuel says, randomly and quietly. I laugh then look over at him, he is laying right beside me and still looking up at the say "I wanted to raise it be a shooting star that way I could wish for anything I want anytime I wanted to." He explains before he glances over at me with a small smile on his face.
"That's very clever." I let out another small chuckle "That makes sense, but I never wanted to actually catch a star like most kids." I explain, I never really found a purpose in that "I always thought that if we took one star down that it would mess up its beauty; why would I want it down here when it looks gorgeous from down here?" I sigh, Samuel mumbles something that I did not quite catch "What'd you say?"
"Nothing, I was just talking to myself and you also make a good point." Samuel points out as he goes into the sitting position "They are better looking from down here."
We sit there in silence once again just to enjoy the view that seems endless right now. I mean those stars are literally swiping every part of the sky. I pull out my phone before I take a picture of the stars and the moon. I have to show Franklin and Hayden this. I always take Hayden places that are beautiful because I want her to know how beautiful the world really is when there is so much bad in it. She needs to know these things just so she can have some peace in her heart while she grows up.
I put my phone down beside me then I look up once again. A flash from Samuel's phone makes me gasp and snap my head towards him. Samuel laughs loudly before he locks his phone and I crawl over to him. He shakes his head knowing that I am going to ask to see the picture. My mouth is probably wide open or something like that. It has to be deleted if that's the case.
"If I show you, you can't delete it."
I scoff "If it is ugly I am going to delete it. Show me, right now."
"Geez, mom, "I hit his arm playfully while he laughs "let me get my phone out."
He takes his phone out of his pocket, he unlocks it not caring if I see it and he goes to his gallery. Samuel shows me the picture and I smile. It is a very nice picture. I am looking up at the stars, the moon is behind me and it looks like I am sitting inside the moon. There are also hundreds of stars beside the moon; it was amazing.
"I approve, but I think that we should take a picture together." I say, I just want to remember this day.
Samuel nods "Sure, but we'll have to take a couple of them to make sure we have the right one."
"Of course." Samuel smiles, widely
Samuel takes out of his phone and we start to take a lot of pictures. Some we were smiling, laughing, being silly, being flirty, posing, and some were off guard. When we are done with them we look through them before we decide that it is time to go. The car ride to my house was even more fun, just to match the rest of the day. Samuel parks in front of my house then we get out of the car. Samuel walks me to my door step, we stand in front of each other and then smile.
"We should definitely go to another little league game and yell at random kids we don't know." I laugh, that is what we did after lunch "It was fun."
