"I'm here, I'm here!" I called as I hurried into my apartment.

"About time." Krysten got up from the kitchen table. "Where were you?"

Just thinking about the recent events made my cheeks flush. "I was out."

"With who exactly?" She seemed very curious.

My phone vibrated just as I was about to answer. I pulled it from my pocket and saw Niall's name flash across the screen showing the cutest selfie I've ever seen. "I have to take this. I'll tell you about it after I change," I told her running to my room for privacy. I picked up the phone.

"Wow that was fast. Is someone eager?" I giggled into the phone.

A shaky voice responded, "I'm not doing this."

"What are talking about?" I asked stopping dead in my tracks.

"Whatever it was that happened minutes ago between us, I'm not doing it again. It's not going to go any further."

I was so stunned. "B-but I thought you enjoyed yourself just as much as I did. Or else you wouldn't have been so sad to see me leave."

"Whatever you think I felt, you're wrong."

"Why are you doing this?"

"Just don't ever be affectionate towards me again, Reyna. We're acquaintances, but nothing more." I couldn't get another word in before he hung up the phone.

**

My throat burned as I swallowed the liquid. I sat up from my slouched position on the couch and poured more liquor into my cup. I sighed and sang along to the slow paced music blasting through the apartment. The short "fling" I had with Niall was so exciting, new and I thought it would lead somewhere. I got my hopes up. I thought he might be good for me. Whenever I meet a guy something bad always ends up happening and our relationship never ends up thriving. The doorbell rang and I jumped to my feet. It was one of my best friends.

"Levi!" I threw myself onto him and engulfed him in a hug.

"It's been too long Rey." his buff arms tightened around my waist lifting my feet inches off the ground. Still in a long embrace, we backed up into my apartment and pulled away. I looked at him up and down. My best friend since birth and I haven't seen him in almost 6 months.

"Levi, you got taller." I smiled at him.

"Did I really?"

I stared up at the six foot tall guy standing in front of me. He wore a muscle T-shirt and khaki shorts. He ran a hand through his dark brown, almost black, hair.

"You've been drinking? You sad or something?"

I sighed. He knew me too well. "A little, sort of."

He sat down on the couch next to me, putting his arm around me. He was warm, welcoming, and familiar

"Tell me what's up."

Immediately I started blabbing on about what an asshole Niall had been to me and how one night he randomly opened up to me. And how on that same night he kissed me. After that he had avoided me for awhile and then made out with me, gave me his phone number, and begged me not to leave his side. And how today I got a phone call saying that he couldn't do any of that again and he wanted nothing to do with me.

"This guy is insane," Levi laughed. "I think you should stay away from him. It's better than drowning your sorrows in liquor because of him." He took the bottle from my grasp.

"You're no fun," I laughed while bobbing my head to the faint background music. I started to sing loudly, ignoring the prior conversation.

"Reyna," Levi laughed, "you can't just avoid the problem. You need to talk to him and tell him how you feel."

"You don't know Niall, Levi. He's a douche bag and won't talk about his feelings, ever. And he won't listen. It always has to be his way. Most stubborn guy I've ever met."

"He was open with you once, he'll be open with you again." I rolled my eyes and hugged him tightly closing my eyes.

"I missed you buddy." That was the last thing I said before I fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning to someone clearing their throat. I didn't feel like opening my eyes, I couldn't I was weak with a headache. Levi spoke from behind me. He had me in a spooning position on the couch. "Who are you?"

"None of your god damned business."

I groaned at the sound of Niall's voice. "What are you doing here? How'd you even get in," I asked.

"The door was unlocked. What's this dick over here doing with you? How about you get the fuck off of her before I rearrange your fucking face."

"He's my friend Niall. Back off."

Levi sat up and climbed off the couch. When I opened my eyes they were in each others face. Levi was much taller than him but Niall was more muscular. I stood up quickly and wedged myself in between them. My head started to spin but I still managed to keep them away from each other. I was smaller than both of them and had my hands on each of their chests pushing them away from one another.

"Please don't fight." I begged.

Levi said, "What the shit is your problem dude? I did absolutely nothing to you."

"You've been getting cozy with Reyna. She belongs to me." He fisted his hands and a vein in his arm was popping out angrily. I stared at him and shoved him as far as I could. Which ended up only being about two inches.

"What are you talking about?" I yelled, "You didn't want anything to do with me remember?"

He shook his head. "I made a mistake."

"You need to make up your damn mind Niall. I don't like to be toyed with."

He started to speak but before he could Levi threw a punch to his face, right on his jaw.
