5. The Family dinner
____________________________________________________________________________Hajimari couldn't sleep. She had done her training with Itachi for the day. The two only met 3 weeks ago and already they were great friends.
She was sat on top of the Orphanage watching the stars and moon pass by. She watched as they all shined so bright that they practically lit up the dark streets.
She still felt so alone. She has a new friend but she still felt oh so alone. What she wouldn't do for a family. Actually, maybe she shouldn't say that, you never know what she could be forced to do in a world full of Ninja.
"Morning Haji, you're up early" a voice pierced through the silence. It was so close and the silence made it sound louder. The voice effectively scared her enough for her first reaction to turn around and throw a Shuriken at it.
Her heavy breathing calmed when she saw a very familiar blond holding onto the Shuriken with a calm smile. He tilted his head at her fear but his eyes. Those blue eyes seemed to glow as usual the more she stared the scarier they became. She even began to see those eyes in her dreams haunting her to infinity.
A hand touched her shoulder.
"Hey, calm down it's just me" Minato stated. He had seen the girl sit on the roof every night on his way home from something, usually a mission. The Anbu had also been keeping him updated and they were worried about her new friendship. But Minato wouldn't mention that.
He sat down next to her and watched as she continued staring up at the sky.
"What's so interesting about the sky that you want to stare at it all the time?" Minato asked. Sure it looked nice, but not nice enough that he would take time out of his busy schedule just to do it.
"I-it's calming" Hajimari whispered. Her purple eyes seemed to almost shine in the moonlight. She looked at the moon with admiration, like the moon had accomplished something she couldn't.
"Well yes, I guess it is. So anything interesting happen while you've been here?" Minato asked, he had leaned back and was watching the stars with her.
Now obviously he knew everything that has happened with her. He knew about her daily training, her constant trips to the library and her new friendship with the Uchiha heir. But he wants to hear it from her.
Hajimari sat in silence for a few seconds. She still didn't fully trust Minato, his eyes haunted her nightmares. So much so that sometimes she would want to run as far from the village as possible. But in reality, he was kinda nice, a bit goofy too... but he scared her.
"N-no... n-nothing special" She whispered. She had a feeling those masked men that she had caught once or twice had already told Minato everything, so there was no point in telling him again.
Minato realised at that moment that she probably doesn't trust him. No matter how nice he may act he did scare her badly. He wasn't shocked that the Anbu report had mentioned nightmares. Maybe it was time to bring the professional with kids in.
"Hey. Would you like to meet my wife? She loves kids and loves guests just as much. I'm sure she be happy to meet you." Minato stated. He sat up and watched the girl with curiosity.
Hajimari had a thousand thoughts race through her head. He could be lying. This could be a trap to finally kill her off. Or this could be genuine. Was she willing to take the risk? A good meal, with nice people... or a trap.
